Hello everyone, I wanna share my rainy day lumpia mission today.. ๐
Well, itโs been so cold and rainy here with the typhoon but weโre safe and sound, thankfully.. ๐
Since my daughterโs classes were canceled and we couldn't go out, we decided to have a movie day and make lumpia (Filipino spring rolls) ๐ yum yum
This was my first time making them,, so I was a little nervous.. ๐
I don't know if I'm doing it right, so please let me know if there is anything I need to add to make my lumpia taste even better..
Now, let's dive in.. ๐
I started by getting all the ingredients ready ๐
(white onion, garlic, carrots, ground pork and wrapper)

First, I chopped the garlic and the white onion finely.. ๐

Then, next are the carrots ๐ฅ finely chopped as well..

and then, I put out the ground pork and the wrappers..
the wrappers were so soft as I separated them one by one..
it was fresh
I mixed the filling together, which was the easy part.. ๐
I added pepper, salt and soy sauce..
Then came the wrapping.. ๐

Honestly, my first few lumpia looked pretty weird,,
some were fat, some were lopsided.. ๐
I eventually got the hang of it, though a few still had escaping filling.. ๐
Oh well, they all get fried.. ๐ so yeah..

The smell when they hit the hot oil was amazing..
I pulled out a plate of crispy, golden rolls and enjoyed them with everyone..
We finally sat down to eat while watching a movie my daughter had picked.. She's fond of old time movies.. so she chose the "Dead Poet Society"..

The fried lumpia with that tangy vinegar and onion dip tasted so good with my hot coffee.. โ๏ธ

It was the perfect, cozy meal for a stormy day..
I was really happy with how they turned out for my first try.. ๐
Do you have any go-to simple recipes for these kinds of days?
Please let me know.. ๐
Thank you so much for reading my simple blog for today..
I hope everyone is doing fine.. ๐
Be safe..
