Lots of people are actually noticing Mommy D's onion in the table in front of her store. If no one mention it, I will never notice that we have them in here. Like I am always checking Mama's garden so I actually forget that Mommy D has her own plants too that was planted in a pot ʘ‿ʘ..

Mommy D mentioned it the other day while cooking soupy dish with fish. She said she will use the onion leaves in it, so she harvested them. This is just one onion with a sprout actually, and there's only one in here. Some of the plant she planted before died, she already planted different kind plant, like bell pepper, chili pepper, and tomato but all of them dies. There are some that a plan can survive but most of the time, they just wither. Maybe it's also because they are in a pot, and maybe the soil used is not in a good of quality. ʕಠ_ಠʔ

Anyways, when I visit the market the other day, I saw this good looking squash and I am so tempted to buy it. So I did buy it. I also bought 60 pesos worth of chicken, the fatty part with bones to mix in it. I am not so sure what to actually make with this ingredients but when I go hoke, Mommy D suggested to use the onion leaves in this recipe... And so I did even though I am not really sure of how an onion leaves taste. I seriously have no idea. Does it taste like onions too?

So here's our freshly picked onion leaves, I also decided to put ginger in it. Like I think it would taste good too with ginger, right? Then we also have onion and garlic. And the squash that I cut into small bite sized pieces, ෆ╹ .̮ ╹ෆ

So I started it with searing the chicken meat to give it a brown color. I am not sure what's the purpose of this because I just copy it on the cooking vlog I watched before. Lol. After that I sauteed the onion, garlic, ginger and onion leaves with together with the chicken, mix, mix, mix!

I stir it for like two minutes, ah, by the way I didn't add oil in it because I used the chicken oil that I got while searing the chicken. I then added water in it, cover it and simmer it until the chicken tenderize.

Then after 20 minutes, I put the squash next and let it boil until the squash soften to my liking.

It should be soft but not too much, just enough, that when you eat it, it will be squash easily in your mouth. We called it "maligat," kind of chewy but really not chewy, something like that. Why it is so hard to explain..lol

Another 10 minutes and its done! I know the taste is kinda different compare when it has Onion Leaves. I can't really taste it because my sense of taste and smell didn't visit me that time. I wish it would visit me much often, but, aigoooo. But I know it taste different, I can tell with like the after taste of something, although I can't really taste it. Lol. How do I explain this?
Anyhow, we all enjoy it, especially the texture of the squash. I think I did good cooking it. And thanks to the onion leaves of Mommy D, I get to try it with this recipe though it doesn't look like its a big deal... But it is to me actually (^._.^)ノ.
