Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. In this post, I bring friends to Chiang Dao district, Chiang Mai Province again. This time this place isn't a temple, but a Meditation Retreat Center. This place is called Phuttha Phrom Puno Meditation Retreat Center (Chiang Dao Branch).
My wife and I know Phuttha Phrom Puno Meditation Retreat Center from a facebook fanpage about travel. So we want to visit this place. We traveled in the morning after we sent our autistic son to school. It was a journey on a main road (Highway 107) and the road winds over the plateau to go to Chiang Dao District. These are some of the scenery from this journey.
Phuttha Phrom Puno Meditation Retreat Center (Chiang Dao Branch) is near Wat Phra Nares. Before reaching this location, we saw two blue serpent statues. Which is the entrance to this temple (Wat Phra Nares).
When we arrived at Phuttha Phrom Puno Meditation Retreat Center, it was a large courtyard. We were able to park our car in this courtyard. In front, there is a large building. And on top of this building, there is a large statue of a monk.
There are several buddha images in front of this building too. These buddha image are buddha image in the royal attire.
This Meditation Retreat Center also has a buddha image park. This buddha image park is a small park with buddha images and statues. Such as many buddha image in the royal attire in the attitude of subduing mara, There are many colored buddha image in the royal attire in the attitude of subduing mara, Looks very beautiful. And has a buddha image in the royal attire in the attitude stand too. Beside these buddha images in the royal attire are two small pavilions. In each pavilion, there are gold color statues of a giant and a god of death.
In this park, there are also several statues of black gods, A statue of a gold color animal, this animal statue has the body of a turtle and the head of a dragon.
In addition, there is a medium-sized pavilion. This pavilion is beautiful, there is an entrance staircase with two white serpent statues decorated with gold color. Inside this pavilion is a statue of Phra Mae Thorani.
Near the buddha image park, there is a building for meditation retreat. There were many buddha images in this building, but I wasn't able to take photos inside the building at that time. Many people are practicing Dharma.
Finally the highlight of this place is the large buddha image in the royal attire in the attitude of stand. Looks grand and beautiful. This Buddha statue is located behind the Meditation Retreat Center. We have to walk about 300 meters to the area behind the Meditation Retreat Center.
