Today was a wonderful day spent with family as we visited my sister-in-law's farm. These moments remind me of how important family bonding truly is.
One thing that amazed me during our visit was their newly built bahay kubo.

Originally, my sister-in-law planned to build a concrete house on their farm. However, after experiencing a strong earthquake, they decided to build a bahay kubo instead. It is located right in the middle of their farm, surrounded by nature and greenery. The place is peaceful, relaxing, and perfect for someone who needs a space and quite surroundings. The fresh air was truly refreshing, especially during the warm afternoon. I can already imagine it becoming their favorite tambayan in the future.

One of the highlights of our visit was harvesting fresh coconuts. After gathering them, we turned them into refreshing buko juice. My eldest sister-in-law prepared the drink and mixed it with milk, making it even more delicious. It was the perfect refreshment for the warm weather.

While some of us were busy enjoying the fresh buko juice, the boys were preparing our lunch. They were grilling native chicken outside, making everyone excited for the meal. The smell of the chicken cooking over the firewood filled the air and made us even hungrier.
As the food preparation continued, everyone had their own way of bonding. The children happily played outside, running around and enjoying their time together. Their laughter brought life and joy to the gathering.

I helped cook one of my favorite dishes, Chicken Adobo. Cooking is one of my favorite tasks, especially when all the ingredients are already prepared and I only need to focus on the cooking itself. We cooked outside using firewood, which is very common here in the province. It gives the food a unique flavor and adds a traditional touch to every meal.

Of course, the native chicken was incredibly delicious. There is truly nothing quite like its taste. It paired perfectly with rice, and because everyone was eating with such a good appetite, my sister-in-law cooked plenty of rice for all of us.
The boys also enjoyed their own bonding time. As usual, their conversations became even livelier while sharing a few drinks together. Laughter, stories, and friendly conversations filled the afternoon.
Finally, it was time to eat. We gathered around the table and enjoyed the food together. Everything tasted wonderful, but what made the meal even more special was the happiness of sharing it with family.

Family is not perfect. Sometimes there are misunderstandings and differences. However, despite those challenges, we choose to stay connected, spend time together, and strengthen our relationships. That is what truly matters.

As the day came to an end, it was time for us to go home because each of us had responsibilities waiting. We left with full stomachs, happy hearts, and another beautiful family memory to cherish.
