A Colourful Breakfast with Variety

in GEMS2 days ago (edited)

Hello everyone! This was actually yesterday's breakfast that I had in Bidor while travelling to Penang Island. I reached Penang some time past 1.00 pm and by the time we grabbed lunch and got to the house we were going to stay in, it was past 3.00 and my phone was going to be 10% charge due to using it throughout the day since 6.00 am.

We went to eat breakfast at a small restaurant we have been before. This is the front of the restaurant. The aunty cooks the meals right there and we can see her cooking. Sometimes she talks with us too and asks how we are doing and where we are from. She said that it is a family run restaurant and her daughter and her son-in-law too work there.

This is the inside area. I have been there before to wash my hands and the kitchen area is clean. There aren't too many things or stuffiness so it's quite spacious there. This is where the daughter of the owner aunty makes beverages like coffee and tea.

This is the menu. We can see the available food on the left and drinks on the right along with their respective prices here.

This is what we ordered. One set of dosa for each person. They served chicken curry, chutney and dhal to eat it with. However one dosa is actually very light and it will not suffice until lunchtime.

This is milk tea which is what I usually drink at home too and that's why I ordered it out of habit.

We all ordered the same set of meals and drinks except my brother who got milk coffee instead of tea.

We also got a pack of nasi lemak and shared just to get a taste of it and see how big the portion is. It came with an omelette on top of the rice. Usually there will be a quarter sized boiled egg or half egg. But we got whole egg and it costs slightly more than a regular set.

Then we ordered a set of puri too. Each set of puri usually comes in twins with a small bowl of potato gravy. Since we were a little past the early breakfast time, the potatoes finished so we had the puri with chicken curry and dhal.

In case anyone is wondering about the location, this is the landmark. It is near this area but we need to walk through a small street into another street to get there. We only got to know about the restaurant based on a passer-by's guide.

Thank you for dropping by and I wish you a wonderful day ahead.

These dishes are truly mouth-watering. I also love how clean and comfortable the place looks. Puri, I'm really curious about the taste. 😊
