Blending chocolate, music, quiz and board games into one day

Do you know how to describe a developer meeting, a chocolate-making workshop, a jam session, playing a Hive quiz, making sushi, hanging around, chitchatting, and playing board games all evening in one word? Do you know? Yes, in short - that is HiveBeeCon, Day 2.

And even though today was already the third day, I simply didn't have the strength to write this post last night. We arrived at the accommodation late in the evening, and after such a full day of activities, not to mention the morning walk to one museum and going to lunch in a small group of Hivers before the official activities of the HiveBeeCon started, I fell asleep in no time. And what can I say... today was even more intense hahaha. But there are no more excuses! Here comes in a nutshell how we spent our day yesterday, Saturday, the 15th of November.

1000051067.jpg

A little reminder of the schedule of the day 👆, for the curious passersby, visitors of The Kingdom, and for the Hivers.

The developers started their workshop at 2 pm. I obviously didn't understand a lot anything, so I was mostly chit-chatting with @itsola and @asia-pl. You know, kind of topics mothers can have. 😊

I needed a cup of coffee to gain strength, which @hallmann immediately offered me and prepared in the kitchen of @krolestwo. When the time arrived, at 4 pm, we moved to the workshop room to start the chocolate-making activity. Well, if you think that it is a quick and easy activity, I have to tell you the truth - that is not like that. You actually need a bit of effort to arrive at that stage to enjoy the moments of pleasure that tasting this homemade chocolate can offer.

First, the cocoa beans were roasted the previous day.

1000051073.jpg

Then we were advised to wash our hands and grab a knife. The real work, which requires high levels of patience and mastery, started and lasted....

1000051075.jpg

...for example, after some 20 minutes of peeling the shell of the roasted cocoa beans, I obtained this quantity. 😅

1000051077.jpg

Together with @akipponn and @small.minion (and his son), we were slowly filling this plate with peeled cocoa beans. An interesting fact - we were delighted with the smell that our hands got from this activity. We joked we would not wash our hands now for a week and smell chocolate whenever we wished. 😂

1000051079.jpg

There were also more people peeling the cocoa beans, like Ola, @asia-pl, @itsola and from time to time other hivers that were coming to the workshop room, like @engrave, or @ph1102. I am sorry if I missed mentioning someone, but I was too concentrated on peeling the beans! 😁

1000051084.jpg

Once we had enough peeled cocoa beans, Hallmann brought the grinder. He was grinding the cocoa beans and brown sugar, obtaining a paste from it, which was later added to hot milk.

1000051085.jpg

The little chocolate-making tool was heating and stirring the milk with the cocoa mixture until it was done and served in little cups! Success! 👌

The tasty homemade chocolate is definitely worth the effort of peeling the beans for one whole hour, as the result is super tasty.

1000051089.jpg

For those who didn't or couldn't take it with milk, the chocolate was placed in a mould and put into the fridge for a few hours. The mould actually had the Hive logo on it, it is a pity it can't be seen from my photo.

Next activity... the jam session. Well, I was at the chocolate workshop, so I was almost late to the jam session, but no worries, as there were other people playing the guitar and the piano. Some songs were also played in this 4-hand ensemble with @danxious and @alessandrawhite in the role of singer! 🎤

1000051107.jpg

I also hope @gtg will be able to listen to Child in Time recording more than once... without killing anyone because of the background noise interference. 😁

1000051096.jpg

Although I could continue with the black and white keys for more time, we were called to play this cool Hive quiz held by @blind-spot! That was fun! All the questions were Hive-related, and in one moment, I was taking third place. However, others were quicker in some questions, and I accidentally hit the wrong button for one of the questions, so I went down in the list.

1000051106.jpg

I was just "nearly at the podium" but it doesn't matter as the whole quiz was just for fun! Some questions were serious, others silly. The important thing is that we laughed quite a lot for the whole quiz.

Soooo, here came the sushi time. @akipponn was preparing it and those who tried it were really satisfied with the taste. Unfortunately, I don't eat sushi so I didn't try but according to those who grabbed some, it was delicious! 👌

1000051133.jpg

The evening continued with board games. Many people, many board games, and a lot of fun. My husband played this version of chess.

1000051132.jpg

I was fine with some easier game hahaha, not with less funny results. I can't remember the name of this one, but with your team, you had to guess the words that the leader of the group would describe just with one different word that would somehow connect them.

Connecting words is fun. 😃

Connecting people through such meetups is even more fun. 😉

Connecting keys with Hive keychains, also! (thank you @mynewlife 🙏)

So, this was day 2 of the second edition of HiveBeeCon. The day three... yeah, it was also cool, and once again I will finish with a promise hope that I will write about it soon. 😋

That was an amazing version :-) thank you!

It was my pleasure, and I hope to find a piano at every meetup from now on so more deeps and purples can be played 🎶😉

Wow!! @mipiano, we finally made music together IRL in real tempo (see what I did there? 😉).

I adore you even if you or I play the role of a Hivian 😇 or a Steemian 😈! Hehehe!!

Hahaha, don't tell anyone about that 🤫

😈

It was a lot of fun, though, to see my husband first in that sun-ny role and then others too, lol 😂

I am also happy to spend almost the whole day yesterday with you, the walk, museum and pierogi were great and the afternoon as well. The jam session part especially, thank you for singing with me, we just listened to our Jingle Bell Rock special version with @ph1102 😇

See you tomorrow morning!!!

That looks like an amazing event :) We had some fun flying, though ;)

I am glad that the flying fun you had was also successful 😃
We almost had a Beer Saturday as well, but I couldn't know how to choose a beer for myself, so it was water, coffee, juice and hot chocolate instead of beer 😅

Well, well... I don't understand anything about developers, but I can peel chocolate beans even though I've never done it before, because... I like a cup of hot chocolate... sushi... I'll leave that to you. But playing is fun... I've never seen a chessboard like that before! Well done, mipiano!

I have never done it before either, but it was cool to learn and be involved in this tasty activity 😋
Esta noche regresamos hacia España, tuvimos una semana intensa y llena 🤩

Well, welcome to Spain!!! Bring chocolate for rainy days...🤣

Aquí en Cracovia llueve hoy jajaja 🌦
No me digas que en España también? Entonces no vengo 😂😂

Bueno... aquí llueve desde el sábado jajaja hace falta agua, pero puedes usar paraguas...no olvides el chocolate para el frío!😆

Good evening @mipiano, a great second day. I like that Hive keychain and what it represents: bringing people together.

Big hug. 🤗

Good morning @enraizar, it was really great but the third day as well, as you say these events bring people together 😇. So, hope to see you too soon, if not earlier then in a few months 😊
Hugs, it's raining here so we are inside, in Krolestwo with a few Hivers that are also still here ;)

Good evening @mipiano; I hope the sun came out today too. We'll see each other soon, I'm sure. 😃

Un abrazo muy grande 🤗

Hola Mipiano!!!

Un abrazo!!!

Did you perform again? Are we going to see the video?

Looks no like so much fun, I miss the hot chocolate 🤤

I played a bit, yes 😉
It was a jam session so everyone could join in, so more people were involved 🎶🎶 :)))

Greetings from me, Alessandra White, Adil and Mr Mipiano from The Kingdom (now still there hahaha)

Sounds like great fun. When are you due back home?

What an amazing mix of activities! I love how HiveBeeCon blends learning, creativity, and pure fun. It’s easy to see why everyone leaves with new memories and friendships. 💛

Yeah, it was amazing to have such different activities that can bring people together 🤩
Hope to meet you too one day. Next year there will be a meetup in Alicante, if you need some sun vitamin at the beginning of May, would be cool to meet 😉

It sounds like you guys had a tremendous time! I'm so glad! Thanks for sharing (for the people who couldn't be there) and safe travels home :)

Oh, we indeed had! You also had a great weekend, I saw you flying 😀
Thank you, the vinyl is packed in my backpack by miracle 😂 🤪

The process followed to achieve chocolate is very similar to that of coffee, drying, peeling, toasting, and grinding. Both with their exquisite smells. It tastes much better when we do it with our hands, a nice experience.
What a meeting between Hivers to never forget. A hug. 🥰❤️

Hi @mamani ;))
Thank you for explaining about the coffee beans and the similarity. This was the very first time I was peeling the cocoa beans and it was indeed a joyful event. Thank you and many greetings 🤗

I can't help but stop by to say hi every time I'm on Hive, and the best part is always finding out you're still traveling and connecting with other Hiveans. I'm so glad you're enjoying it so much, and no wonder these activities are out of the ordinary, as well as fun and delicious! hahaha.

Hello @jhoxiris, how are you? I am happy to see you, and this weekend was definitely so enjoyable 😉 and delicious, yes 😋

Congratulations !!
You have been manual curated and upvoted by @ecency

Did you know that @stresskiller is also a witness now ?

Thank you 😊

you might want to check your witness votes , i saw your name at a witness that is no longer active ;)

I can see that you all had a lot of fun!!!

Así es 😇
El terder día también, pero bastante intenso con varias horas de caminata jajaja

Looks like a full fun day. Pealing cocoa bean looks like much work, but doing so with friends over a chat would make it fun. I love hive meet-up and discussions concerning Hive. 😊

It was something new for me but I liked it a lot 😊

AYEEEEEE HiveBeeCon looks like so much fun! I love how you guys blended chocolate-making, music, and games all in one day. The homemade chocolate sounds delicious! I'm a bit sad I missed it, but I'm glad you had an amazing time connecting with other Hiveans.

It definitely was fun and delicious, it's lovely that this kind of events exist 😇

Que hermosos encuentros!!

That read like a super day 2. You shall know, at times I feel silly not having arranged time, flights and accommodations to join in this HiveBeeCon. Glad I can read about it though. And even more glad you guys NJOY. Uhm, your black/white key thingy: Highlight of the event, for sure ... or? G must simply listen and listen and listen and while he is at it, NJOY 😂

but but BUT: the chocolate beans. Now I understand why Chocolate isn't inexpensive. That said, 'they', whoever 'they' is, must have invented a machine to do the peeling?! Or? Mister H may know?
