Making the small appetizer : Minced Pork Toast and Ajad Dipping Sauce 🍞🌿🌶️

in ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITY2 days ago

Hello Friday from Thailand everyone!

Here in the southern region, it has been raining for several consecutive days. Some areas are flooded, and schools were closed yesterday and today for safety. For my house, even though it's not flooded yet, but we're keeping an eye on it.

Today, I made a snack for the kids : Minced Pork Toast, fried until crispy. It's best eaten freshly fried and hot, and it becomes even more delicious when paired with Ajad dipping sauce, which is sour, salty, and spicy

Making the Minced Pork Toast

🍞 Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 120 grams minced pork
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon pork seasoning powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

🫕 Procedure

I'll start by marinating the minced pork that will be spread on the bread slices.

  • Crack the egg into a bowl, beat until the yolk and white are well combined, and then divide it into two portions.

  • Mix the minced pork, the first portion of the egg, oyster sauce, granulated sugar, cornstarch, pork seasoning powder, and ground black pepper. Stir until it becomes a uniform mixture. Cover the mixing bowl and let it marinate for about 10 minutes.

  • While the pork is marinating, prepare the bread slices. I will cut each slice of bread into four pieces. I used crustless bread. If you use bread with crusts, you can either leave them on or trim them off.

  • Take the marinated pork mixture and spread it on top of the bread pieces, covering them completely. Then, garnish with coriander leaves and fresh red chilies.

  • Brush the top with the second portion of the beaten egg. Repeat until all pieces are done, using up the mixture evenly.

  • Fry in oil over medium heat until the minced pork is cooked and the bread turns golden brown.

  • Remove and drain on a wire rack to let the excess oil drip off.

Making the Ajad Dipping Sauce

🌶️ Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sliced shallots
  • Fresh chilies, cut into small pieces
  • Sliced cucumber

🥣 Procedure

  • Put the granulated sugar, salt, water, and vinegar into a pot. Bring to a boil until it thickens slightly. Turn off the heat and let it cool down completely.

  • Add the sliced shallots, fresh chilies, and sliced cucumber. Stir to mix everything together. The Ajad is now ready.

  • Serve the Minced Pork Toast with the Ajad dipping sauce are eaten as a snack or a small appetizer.
  • The hot toast has a crispy exterior and a soft interior, while the minced pork topping is juicy with a rich, savory flavor.

  • When eaten with the Ajad, which has a sweet, sour, and salty taste, it creates a perfect harmony and helps cut through the greasiness very effectively.

  • This menu looks very worth trying. You could substitute the minced pork with other types of protein, such as chicken, beef, or shrimp. Enjoy it with your favorite dipping sauce. I recommend a tangy one, as it will pair well.

🙏 Thank you to everyone who stopped by, and see you again next time! 🤗

This looks mouthwatering 😋 🤤 thank you for sharing a very clear and easy to understand recipe about your favorite snack, vinegar dipping is very close to Filos heart, we put vinegar in everything 😅 I think this recipe is close to our "Chicharon" or Pork Cracklings, we also dip it in spiced vinegar.

Thanks for posting in the ASEAN Hive Community.
