Hope everyone is well. Of course, I am grateful for your valuable time. Today I have joined my beloved #aseanhive community and brought you all a thousand recipes of bitter gourd. In today's cooking, we will learn something new. In today's special cooking style, you will see how to remove bitterness from bitter gourd with salt. This dish will definitely suit all of you as a comfort food with white rice.

This bitter gourd, which is rich in vitamin C, protects against various infections. This extraordinary bitter gourd, containing beta-carotene and fiber, is a unique vegetable for our health. This bitter gourd is produced in large quantities in our villages. However, its sale in the city is widespread.

Whenever I get some time in my hand, preparing beautiful food is a daily joy. I have learned special culinary skills from my mother. And I also show my skills to feed different foods to my wife and children. And I am really happy and appreciated by them.

🕳️Bitter gourd 200 grams 🕳️ Potato 200 grams 🕳️ Green chillies five-six pieces. 🕳️Dried chillies four pieces 🕳️ Onion 120 grams 🕳️ Two pieces Garlic 🕳️ Cumin seeds 🕳️ Garam masala 🕳️ Coriander leaves 🕳️ Soybean oil 80 grams 🕳️ Salt as required 🕳️ Turmeric as required 🕳️ One cup water as required 🕳️ Fenugreek as required ETC

Here I have displayed a selfie with bitter gourd and potato fries.

Here, first I took all the necessary practical products at hand. Then I cut the bitter gourd in the middle and cut off the side part. Later I separated the seeds from the bitter gourd. Then I cut the bitter gourd beautifully with a steel slicer. Then I added enough salt and mixed it using water. I threw away the water and kept it aside.

This is a unique way to remove the bitterness of bitter gourd in one go.

Here, I have peeled and cleaned all the ingredients, including onion, garlic, green chilies, and coriander leaves, with a knife.

Later here I washed all the materials well with clean water and am trying to show them by taking pictures.

‎Here I have cut the onion, green chili, garlic, and coriander leaves into beautiful slices.

Here first I roasted it in the oven. And I roasted the ingredients of onion and green chili along with soybean oil. Then I added dry chili and mixed it well. Then I added salt, turmeric and cumin seeds in appropriate quantity. Then I mixed it well and made it light reddish. Then I added potatoes.

Here I have combined the potatoes well with all the ingredients.

Next, I put the bitter gourds in the bowl into the pan and tried to combine them.

Then I am trying to make a nice combination of bitter gourd and potato by mixing it well again. Later I have added powdered spices here.

Next, I chopped the coriander leaves into a nice size and mixed them well.

Then I added a cup of water and mixed it well again.

Next, I covered the pan with a lid and stirred it every five minutes, and then reduced the heat on the stove for another five minutes.

this is delicious with potato!
but here in our country we eat also bitter gourd my husband he cooked this with egg or sometimes just stir fried with tomatoes and onions. that's also delicious. you can try it. i agree that bitter gourd is not really bitter when you soak with salt. 😊

While reading your post, I remembered I had a food trip in a Filipino food restaurant, I ordered Pinakbet and it includes Bitter gourd vegetable on it. Unfortunately, the bitterness of this vegetable was so strong then, I included a photo of the food. My mother also knows the technique you shared about using salt to lessen the taste of bitterness on this veggie. I like your recipe, I would try it. Fries is my favorite. Man, that looks really good. And we also used salt to our bitter gourd here then gently massage them. And this recipe looks yummy, we usually cook bitter gourd with egg. It is also good. I recommend it.

That salt rub and soak to pull out the bitterness is a lifesaver , I liked how you drained the water before cooking. For me karela used to be too sharp, but with potatoes and cumin it turns comfort food with rice :). This shows taht a good salt wash can tame it, and I dont miss the bitterness at all.
