Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. This post is still about Thai New Year and Songkran, but it's a story about food. Local Thai food from the northern and this dish is popular with the locals. This dish is called "Kaeng Ba Nun or Kaeng Khanun" by the locals in northern Thailand. The word "Kaeng" in Thailand is "curry", but this Kaeng Ba Nun, I think it's more like a spicy soup. This dish can be called a spicy soup with young jackfruit and various meats or a curry with young jackfruit and various meats. It is also auspicious northern Thai food for the locals in northern Thailand. And locals often cook this dish during Thai New Year and Songkran too. My family also cooked this dish, my wife cooks this dish almost every year for Thai New Year and Songkran. We have jackfruit and all vegetables as ingredients for this dish from our home garden.
This time my wife cook soup with young jackfruit and pork rinds. She picked young jackfruit, climbing wattle, small tomatoes and wildbetal leafbush for this dish from our home garden.

This dish is usually spicy, but this time she didn't add chili peppers when cooking, So it's not spicy. Our son and granddaughter were therefore able to eat this dish. But my wife and I like spicy food, So my wife adds chili powder after she puts the food in our bowl to add a spicy flavor. And this is the soup with young jackfruit and pork rinds (Kaeng Ba Nun with pork rinds) my wife cooked this time.
