From Tiny String Bean Seedlings to Life Lessons: My Early Morning Gardening Journey

This morning, I woke up earlier than usual because we had a power outage in our area. Since there was no electricity, I decided not to waste the cool morning. I thought it was the perfect time to work in my garden. I always believe that if I finish my farm work early, I can also finish the rest of my tasks earlier and have more time to rest later in the day.

Few days ago, I planted string bean seeds in seedling trays. This is my challenge to myself to plant a 1 vegetable per day, just five days after planting, I was so happy to see that the seedlings had already grown their first two leaves. Seeing those tiny green leaves reminded me that every great harvest starts with a very small beginning.

Instead of transplanting them right away, I gave them more time to grow. Around the tenth to twelfth day, the seedlings had become much taller. They were already leaning over because they had outgrown their trays and needed more space. That was my sign that it was finally time to move them to their permanent place in the garden.

Before transplanting them, I first made a simple trellis using the materials I had at home. String beans are climbing plants, so they need something strong to support them as they grow. While I was building the trellis, I found myself thinking about life. I realized that I am just like these plants. I also need a strong foundation and the support of the people around me. Life is not always easy, but with faith, determination, and the right support, I can continue growing no matter how many challenges come my way.

Transplanting the seedlings also reminded me that growth often requires change. Sometimes we become comfortable where we are, but there comes a time when we need to move forward to reach our full potential. Just like my string beans, I believe that I also need to step outside my comfort zone if I want to grow.

Gardening has taught me that everything takes time. I cannot rush the plants to grow, and I cannot rush God's plans for my life either. All I can do is continue caring for what I have today and trust that the harvest will come at the right time.
After finishing all the planting, I rewarded myself with a delicious breakfast. I cooked butter shrimp and a warm bowl of shell soup. After spending the early morning working in the garden, that simple meal tasted even more satisfying and gave me the energy to continue with the rest of my day.

Every seed I plant teaches me patience, every harvest teaches me gratitude, and every new day gives me another chance to grow.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. I hope it reminds you that, just like a tiny string bean seedling, we all have the potential to grow into something beautiful when we are given time, care, and the courage to keep moving forward.

Same sis, I prefer to work in the morning...I'm also a morning person because I feel that I'm more energized to work in this hour compared to working late in the morning..good thing that despite the power outage, your days still productive..

More motivated and energized to work every morning sis, I hope my string beans will grow and maharvest ko din in the coming months kahit pang laswa lang. Hehe!

So glad to see your initiative of planting this bean plant with the kids. Besides, you have spent your beautiful time with your family happily and with good food it is really part of the best work. However healthy this soup will strengthen your tired time.

I noticed that you have good-quality soil. You just need to mix in some organic matter or natural fertilizer, and it will be even better. In short, you won't have to spend much on potting soil because you already have good soil right in your backyard. In our case, the soil is quite different, so we have to spend extra money buying fertile soil for our plants.

Well, that's true all of us need a support system.

We're blessed to have a good and healthy soil. I hope all my plants will grow. 🌱

Solid! That’s a really refreshing way to turn a power outage into something positive. Choosing to work in your garden not only makes the most of the time but also keeps you connected to nature.
