Yesterday I went to see the downtown and it was busy for Easter. The Easter market was being prepared. I will go there to see stands with my daughter this weekend.
We are not a very religious family, but as I was looking at the city, I wanted to do something to decorate our home.
Hanging plastic eggs on a tree in gardens or indoor is probably the most common decoration, but I didn't want to buy plastic products for a decoration that would only be used once a year, even though I could save them and use them every year. Painting on eggs might be nice but there is too less time until easter to eat many eggs ...
I saw chocolate eggs at a department store I stopped at and thought it would be nice to hang them on a tree branch. It might be a good idea, but the cashier had a long long long line and I left the store exhausted after just looking at the line.
I remembered that I had some Easter cookie molds that came with some extras, and since I could get a cherry branch at the market, I decided to bake cookies and hang them on the branch to decorate the table.
When my daughter is back home, she would want to bake cookies with non Easter shapes, so I returned from the office in the afternoon and started baking cookies.
And yes, baking sweets is something difficult for me with so many processes, tools and ingredients. I'm not good at it 😅 I picked a too small bowl and a piece of butter blew away somewhere, but I'll pretend I didn't see it...
While the cookie dough was resting in the freezer, I put cherry blossom branches in a vase on the dining table. I wonder if the buds on the branches are buds or if the leaves are already coming out. The cherry blossoms hanging outside were still buds, so I hope they are buds.
Our poor oven burnt cookies deep inside ... 😭
For the second round I only put the cookies in the front of the oven and they baked fine. Why should I care about the oven... But all's well that ends well.
Easter holidays start at my daughter's school tomorrow, so I'm going to decorate the cookies and hang them on the branches of the cherry tree.

昨日久しぶりに街を見に行ったらイースター色で、市内の中心部ではイースターマーケットの準備が進んでいました。
宗教色の薄い我が家ですが、街を見ているうちに何かデコレーションをしたくなりました。
プラスチックの卵を家の庭の木に吊るすというのが多分最も一般的なデコレーションですが、とっておけば毎年使えるとはいえ、プラスチック製品を年に一度だけ使うデコレーションのために買うのは気がすすみません。
立ち寄ったデパートでチョコレートエッグ見て、木の枝に吊るしたら（食べられるし！）いいかもと思ったら、レジは長蛇の列で、見ただけで疲れ果ててお店を後にしました。
以前何かのおまけについてきたイースターのクッキー型があることを思い出し、マーケットで桜の枝が手に入ったので、クッキーを焼いて枝に吊るして食卓に飾ることにしました。
子供が帰ってくると、イースターではない方でクッキーを焼きたいと言い出す可能性が高く、午後、オフィスから戻って爆速でクッキーを焼き始めました。ああ・・・お菓子作り、工程も道具も材料も多くて苦手です 😅 小さなボウルを選んだらバターのかけらが何処かに吹っ飛んで行きましたが見なかったことにしようかな。。
クッキーの生地を冷凍庫で休ませている間に桜の枝を花瓶に入れて食卓に置きました。枝についているのは蕾なのか、もう葉っぱが出てくるのか・・・謎です。外にうわっている桜はまだ蕾だったので、蕾だといいな。
前住人から買い取ったポンコツオーブンの奥の方で焼いたクッキーはこげました😭
2サイクル目はオーブンの手前にだけクッキーを入れて無事焼き上がりました。それにしても何で私がオーブンに気を使わなければいけないの・・・！でも終わり良ければすべてよし。
