The reason for that is that watermelons come from arid regions in Africa, so they don't tolerate areas with high rainfall. The water in the melon is an adaptation to very dry environments. We get them from a particular produce vendor occasionally. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Let's !HOPE that the watermelons that you (occasionally) buy are organic, so that you get as much nutrients as possible from eating them! 🤗

It's good to know that your local community has (easy) access to markets selling organic foods (and likely drinks) !INDEED! 🧘‍♂️🤗

I wonder if those markets have people that also off-grid (or at least trying to be). 🧘‍♂️🤓

Most of the people that live in Lower Puna are off-grid. That's the norm here. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Does that mean that people who live on the island can also choose to be "on the grid" if they want to? 🤯😅

Yes, in most parts of the Island, though there is no infrastructure for that in our area, so it's all off-grid. 😁🙏💚✨🤙
