We have to find balanced approach, for longer thoughts always better to do blog post and then share link with excerpt ? Otherwise, short form loses its point and people stop reading...
I understand what you mean. I was thinking more along the lines of increasing the limit to 350–400 characters, rather than making Waves long-form. Not everyone would use the extra space anyway. Even with the current 250-character limit, most people don’t seem to use the full limit and many Waves are mainly pictures.
I feel a slightly higher limit could actually encourage more engagement. For example, in the screenshot, Betheloji’s post seems to be around 400+ characters and I personally enjoy replying to posts like that because there’s a little more to respond to than just a short sentence or picture. I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels that way.
But of course, I understand your point about keeping short-form content short. I’m only sharing my perspective as a user. If you don’t think increasing it is necessary that’s completely okay. I just wanted to explain what I meant by my suggestion.

Btw, you can always reply to your main short content. Create a hook on main wave and then reply to it with longer content which supports 750 characters
I understand. Personally I rarely click into comments to read additional content and I mostly read what people share directly on their main Waves while scrolling. So for me keeping the main thought there is more effective. But I appreciate you explaining the alternative and I understand your point. ❤️
