Hello friends! ๐๐ Today Iโm taking you on a fun food journey in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya ๐โจAs I often mention on my blog, besides its cultural attractions and ancient temples ๐ฏ๐ฟ, Ayutthaya also has many lovely cafรฉs and interesting restaurants โ๐ฐ๐.
For this post, Iโm enjoying a local restaurant experience ๐ถ๏ธ๐ฝ๏ธ. What I noticed is that Ton Kham Pu mainly serves Northern Thai cuisine ๐๐น๐ญ, and the dish you absolutely shouldnโt miss is Khanom Jeen โ itโs a must-try! ๐๐โจ
Why is it called โTon Kham Pu Khanom Jeen Shopโ? ๐ณ๐โจ
When I stepped out of the car, the very first thing I saw was a Ton Kham Pu tree standing tall right in front of the shop ๐ฟ๐. Thatโs where the name comes from!
The tree looks so majestic and almost magical โจ๐ณ โ when you experience it in person, you can really feel the charm ๐. Because of this big tree, the restaurant feels cool and refreshing, making it a very comfortable place to enjoy your meal โ๏ธ๐๐
- The restaurant isnโt very crowded and has plenty of spacious seating areas ๐ชโจ. If you prefer a quieter time, I recommend coming around 1 p.m. ๐๐ฟ
at lunchtime, it gets really busy ๐ ๐ฝ๏ธ. Besides local customers, I also noticed quite a lot of tourists dining at Ton Kham Pu ๐๐. Most importantly, the menu is very diverse โ desserts ๐ฐ, drinks ๐ฅค, and savory dishes ๐๐ โ everything you need in one place! ๐โจ
I ordered Khanom Jeen with coconut curry and snakehead fish ๐๐ฅฅ๐โจ.
The curry was very rich and creamy ๐๐, and when eaten with the rice noodles and fresh vegetables, it was such a perfect combination ๐ฅฌ๐๐.
- However, I must warn you โ if you canโt eat spicy food ๐ถ๏ธ๐
, this dish might not be for you!
One great thing is that the restaurant offers unlimited free vegetables ๐ฅโจ, but you have to get them yourself. And donโt forget to take only what you can finish โ if you leave leftovers, you may be charged for wasted veggies ๐ซ๐ฅฌ๐ธ๐
Can you believe that every time I come to Ton Kham Pu Khanom Jeen Shop ๐๐ณ, my regular orders are mango bingsu ๐ฅญโ๏ธ and a mango smoothie ๐ฅค๐โจ?
Every time I eat them, I feel so happy ๐๐ โ theyโre absolutely delicious, and the freshness from the colorful, ripe mangoes is incredibly refreshing ๐๐ฅญ๐๐.
And these are always my perfect final treats โ a mango smoothie ๐ฅค๐ฅญ and mango bingsu โ๏ธ๐ง๐โจ.
