When a baby is newly born, it is not expected to be seen outside until the naming ceremony. If the baby has to be taken out, a cloth is used to cover its head or provide shade to prevent direct exposure to the weather. I used to think this was applicable everywhere, I mean, universally.

Is this tradition applicable in your area?

No it is not common in our traditions. Relatives can see the baby 🍼
