Actually I would love to cultivate this habit but the kids in my area wouldn't just let it grow in peace.

Yes, they are 😊 In this area, the soil is very arid and there are cats or dogs that like to wreak havoc on the plants haha I understand, when there are people who might damage the plants with their antics, it's best to keep them like this, in pots in safe places 😌
