Procrastination is a known killer of big dreams. Your brain creates the impression that you can finish your tasks later until you realize you've wasted the whole day doomscrolling.

I'm currently dealing with this, and might need some help. How do you deal with procrastination?

Sort:

My dear, even the people who are fighting it keep fighting. It's a never ending fight. 🥲

But I think one thing that has helped is knowing what I call distractions because I know what I should be doing. In that way, I try to at least do a little of what I must do. Maybe give 5-10 mins out of your time to do what must be done, you might just keep at it or go back to doomscrolling but you can pat yourself for the little you've done. The point is not to force it until it just flows in.

Truly, the amount of people battling procrastination scares me because it feels like no one has hacked it. Lol.

But your approach sounds very realistic. I will try this today. Write a few of my distractions and block off time for them. Thanks!

How about when I'm being lazy?😫

My dear! It's really scary. I can't count the number of videos I've watched on management of time. All of them are saying different things. 😂

But the one that has helped me is what I've shared... Do a lazy work on what you must do then permit yourself to get lazy again. 😂

Lmfaooo. Everybody sharing what works for them and it's up to us to watch almost everything to find ours. What a cycle.😂

Thanks again! I'll use your tip.

As in!
It almost got frustrating, I had to stop watching them and think of my own o.

That's why you're the boss. Always figuring out a way.😅

Always? Far from it. 😅

When you're lazy, do the lazier work from where you're lying. Read a book on what you should be doing maybe. 😂

You can't even support someone’s laziness as it seems. Love it!🤣🤣🤣

😂😂😂
I mean, I thought I was lazy until I met lazy people. I won't allow.

Fair enough!😂

What I do sometimes is to set time for myself to finish a certain task, though it make not work out for me, but I will not exceed the time by 20 minutes.😅
Procrastination really dealt with me sometimes ago, but I thank God that the urge is reducing.

Good tip. The effort will definitely compound to good results. I'm rooting for you.❤️

Thank you 🤗

I use to my benefit. I can achieve better results under pressure. So I wait with the tasks until I start to feel the urge and finish them in a stressed state. Just pay attention on the differences of good and bad stress.

I think we're alike. My spirit animal is me under pressure, and I actually do succeed in finishing the tasks I procrastinated about.

I just think it's not a great habit as it could bite us on the foot later on.

Control is the magic word. If you know yourself and you can control your habits you can make this work. But yeah, if you don't pay attention you are f**d.

You're right, ad fair enough. Will bear this in mind. Thanks.

But I will pay more attention henceforth. Thanks a lot.

Absolutely... It does more than just sit you still doing nothing.
Sometimes, I end up achieving the task I intended at the last minute (just like I recently had to wash my hair past midnight, rather than some hours earlier).

Other times I think I speak to myself, as in screaming out loud of whatever it was I should be doing and it helps tho 😂.

I do hope you beat that menace and take control ♥️.

Lmfaoooo. Scrim! To think I was supposed to wash my hair yesterday but ended up doing nun tells a lot.💀

You are a better lady than I am. Hehe. But twins because no way I'd have assumed you had a hair to wash yesterday.🥰

Tell me you're freaking kidding... well well, I give it up for you 👏🏼😭😂

Awww 🥰🥰 this is way too cute 🤭. Twinship all the wayyyyyyy 💃🏼♥️

I'm shy. Please!😂😂😂

Anyway, finally washed my hair. Going to weave it in a bit. Have a good dayyyy, twin!

Berra 😌😂... that's great.
I would have done mine today as well if I wasn't outtt. Will be a tomorrow thing then.
And you too, twinnie 🤭💃🏼💋

Screaming out loud sounds like a trick that works. Hmm. Gotta try it out. Thanks!

I'm looking forward to killing it this weekend. Fingers crossed.

Lol 🤣... Okay then.

Cheering for youuuuuuuu 🥰

Thank you so much.

Washing hair at midnight? 😂
Hope it's only you that washed your hair sha, because you will deprive another of their sleep if they wash for you. 😅

When every other person were fully asleep keh😭😂😂
No ma'am.. it was me, myself and I

Lol better o. 😂

🤣😂

Cutting down on distractions is also a lot to be spoken for. A mere 20-30 minutes of undisturbed concentration can make a remarkable difference. Constant incremental development beats waiting for the “perfect” moment every time.

This is perfect advice. I think if I can block off 30 solid minutes off every 2 hours, that would help, right?

No phones too?

What I do, love to walk for at least 20/30 minutes after every two hours, cutting everything to silence. Give it a shot too you may like.

Okay, sounds helpful. Will do. Thank you!

Have some fun.

I think that’s just doom scrolling😆

And not procrastination?🤔

I just wanna see doom scrolling ranked lower than procrastination 😜🤣

Huhm...
Procrastination, it's something a lot of us battle with. ATM I'm going into(learning a skill) I should have learned years ago. I kept shifting it back then even though there was time and I've got people to even sponsor me, but now no one is advising me to even go for it..

I believe we all get to the point where we wouldn't even need an external push to make efforts for ourselves.

Right now, what's important is that you're committed to learning and no longer procrastinating. I'm rooting for you!

You get it.
A time when we sit ourselves down and decide to take the step, else we have ourselves to blame for it.

And I'm paying with my own money too 😁...
I just feel the earlier we begin to take things serious, the better it is for us. Starting from the most smallest things....

This is exactly the downside of procrastination: missed opportunities and time that may never be gotten back.

To add to that, the cost of learning that skill may even be higher now. I genuinely see the reason you're strongly on the side of starting early. I'm with you on this.

Exactly...
Eiii, let's not even go there. It is now 3* what it was back then.
Thanks Sissy ❤️

Ohhh i hope so you'll fight with This and achieve your big dreams soon 💕

I definitely will. Thank you, Les.🥰

I feel discouraged .
I just started attending drama class.
After procrastinating for a long time.

We had our first test and as the course rep of the group I go 18/25.
I feel bad about it.

I feel scared I hope I can represent my team well.

Oh, dear. I understand how you feel but please remember that your efforts, no matter how little, is valuable to the bigger picture. Besides 28/25 is impressive. I believe in you, girl.

"I will do it tomorrow," na him make chicken no fit fly with em fellow birds

I need help too because I'm stock.
The most annoying part is I'm easily distracted. Sometimes I'm already doing that thing and sth will just distract me, I will tell myself I would continue tomorrow 😭

So sorry, dear. Go through the snap, you'll find some good tips. Good luck!

Yeah thank you.😌
