This cake is very similar to the Brazilian pavê, as there are so many variations of pavês, I would even venture to say that it would be called pavê in Brazil.

This is the traditional pavê, but there are many variations. Some people make it like a cake.

Check out the video below; there are hundreds of variations, which is why I thought your dish was similar.
