Healthy Food or Junk Food? | #LOH236

Hello, Ladies!

How are you? Has anyone missed my writings here? Hahaha. Okay, today I'm going to start my re-debut on Hive by writing one of the themes from my favorite community, the Ladies of Hive. This theme is very interesting to me because it's related to food. There are many stories about food, restaurants, and various regional cuisines that I often try. But this time, we will focus on the theme:

What type of food do you prefer? Are you on the 'healthy team' or do you prefer junk food? Or do you simply maintain a good balance between the two?

Talking about food, of course I have my own views. I always like to try various foods, from traditional to modern. It feels so good to be able to indulge my taste buds with various flavors.

People say vegetables are delicious, even my husband says so, but I never liked vegetables and my mom always forced me to eat vegetables. She always said, “When will you learn to eat vegetables?” Sometimes I would cry because I disliked vegetables so much. To me, vegetables have a strange and bland taste. When I ate vegetables, my tongue seemed to refuse to allow them to enter my throat. It was really miserable just to eat vegetables!

One time I chose to eat pecel or you can recognize it as vegetable salad with peanut sauce. The only vegetables used were spinach, bean sprouts, and peanut sauce. The first and second bites I could still eat it, but by the fifth bite, I really felt nauseous and could not continue eating.

However, since I got married, I started to get used to eating healthier. I started trying different vegetables that I could eat, cooking them myself, eating more fruits, and less junk food.

Junk Food is a distraction

Why is it that junk food always looks more tempting than healthy food? Hahaha. I love some junk food and often buy it when I'm not cooking at home. But of course, you can't eat like this every day!

Now, I cook more at home, sometimes my husband and I buy food outside, but not junk food. So, even so, our food intake is maintained and our health is also well maintained. There's nothing wrong with eating junk food occasionally, but healthy food should still be prioritized.

So, are you the type of person like me who balances the two when it comes to food? Tell me, please!

I never liked veggies when I was a kid. Now that I'm adult, I can't eat a meal without any veggie on it.

Junk foods are tastier because they are designed to be addicting. 😊
