RE: I Made Mooncakes!

I absolutely love the shapes made by your mooncake mold πŸ’– They look absolutely gorgeous, and I bet they're so delicious πŸ’• Making lye water from scratch for your first time is serious dedication πŸ™Œ Thank you so much for sharing this recipe sis! πŸ₯°

It's fascinating to hear that sis @kerrislravenhill has Chinese ancestry. Happy Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival! 🎊🌷

The circular and square-shaped molds are the most common. Occasionally, I see some that are unique, but mostly they are either round or square.
Do you bake, sis @wanderelle?

Yes sis, but it's very occasional...and my knowledge is limited to bread, cakes and cookies πŸ˜… It's my first time seeing someone like you bake mooncakes and I was really amazed ✨ I always thought it's very complicated to make since usually, mooncakes were sold here by wealthy Chinese shops who have factories πŸ˜…

I found it relatively easy to make. It is key to have the mold, although I think that you could bake the slightly flattened balls as is. Ah... bread! Do you just love the smell of bread baking? I just baked some bread!
