Hey Hive!
We're back with more of our hawker adventures! It's been a while but one of the things we do on dates is trying out different stalls in different hawker centers to find which are our favourites!

If you've never patronised a hawker center before, they are typically non-air conditioned buildings that house all kinds of food stalls specialising in one or two signature dishes. They're ubiquitous here in Singapore and Malaysia and are known for delicious and affordable food - the perfect combination! They're definitely where you can find the best food in Singapore and is our go-to place for food!
We're lucky that our neighbourhood has a really good hawker center with a wide variety of stalls. The hawker center itself takes up the whole level two of this building, and is divided into two sections for halal and non-halal food.
The halal side is distinguished by green chairs and green borders around the stall signboards while the non-halal side has more neutral colours.
It also makes it easier for people to separate the utensils and dishware since they can't be mixed up as well. Overall I think it was well designed since it can get confusing.
Anyway, there was a new stall that opened up at the halal side and since we had friends over who could only eat halal food we decided to try it!
The shop is called Taibah and they specialised in Middle Eastern food, like kebab, wraps and mandi rice with tumeric. They looked kinda pricey but also a pretty decent portion size so we decided to go for the Chicken Kebab with Salad.
The owners were really nice and everything was prepared on the spot. Of course they also had the special vertical spit where the kebab meat is cooked. It was late in the day by then so most of the meat was gone but thankfully they had enough for us.
Sean and I got this to share and he also bought an extra box of fried rice from another stall. But honestly the kebab chicken salad was pretty big and was chock full healthy vegetables too! It was topped with a generous helping of chili, cheese sauce and their special kebab sauce as well.
It was so delicious! It tasted healthy and fresh even at the end of the day and the onions gave a nice spice kick to it as well. The chicken was nicely marinated and they also had rice at the bottom which was surprising since the menu said Chicken Kebab with Salad. But everything complemented well together and it tasted so good.
Overall it was such a good dish and great buy that if I ever crave kebab again I would definitely try this place again! I think if we get our own pitas and toast them ourselves we could just fill up the pitas with this kebab chicken salad and it would be enough for at least 2 of us.
