The temps outside are still fridged and we are expected to get 1 1/2 foot more snow this weekend. All in all, I'm keeping busy in the kitchen doing odds and ends.

Artisan Bread

3 cups Bread Flour
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups of warm water
1 1/2 T. yeast
1 T. sugar
2 T. sourdough starter

Getting all the ingredients ready while waiting for the yeast to proof.

It's coming together, a bit shaggy, time to knead it for a few minutes.

Now it looks lovely and ready to set aside to double in size.

That didn't take too long to double and it's time to bake the bread. Into the preheated cast iron Dutch oven lined with parchment paper, sprinkle a little cornmeal on top, place it into the oven with the lid on and bake at 475 F. for 30 minutes. I remove the lid and lower the temperature to 375F. and bake it for 15 minutes longer.

The Artisan Bread is done and smells so delicious. Hubby is standing over it waiting for a slice, he is so impatient with baked goods. lol

L Rueteri Yogurt

I was almost out of yogurt, so while the bread was baking, I prepared that to get it processing. I have to thank @manorvillemike for introducing me to this yogurt maker. We love it! This yogurt has so much more #probiotics for good gut health than store bought. I will put the link here to a previous post on how I make it and the fabulous benefits it has. L Rueteri Yogurt

Keto Lunch

I'm still sticking to a light lunch following a Keto-style diet. The Sardines and the Avocado are high in fat to help me get into burning fat instead of storing carbohydrates. I eat this same meal every other day for lunch and alternate with a large, tossed salad.

Snuggle Time

It was a good day to stay inside and keep warm. but the best part of the day is spending the afternoon snuggling with Mika while I read a book.

This weekend is going to drop in temperature drastically, so I plan on making some muffins and cookies for hubby. That will keep me nice and warm. Have a great day everyone.

Mika seems to appreciate the warm blanket, so sweet! ❤️

Mika asks to snuggle every afternoon; it gets me to slow down and chill out.

I have no intentions of opening my doors today! I will try to keep all the warmth indoors. Doing some baking would add some additional heat. The bread looks so good.

I don't blame you there, it is 2F. and 6" of fresh snow fell overnight. Cookie baking day!

I admire your tenacity to sticking to your program! I bet the house smelled heavenly with that bread! Do you think Mika was relaxed in the photo?? :))

Thanks, I'm determined to drop 30 lbs of more by summer. That's my goal. Mika loves our snuggle time whether on the porch or in the family room. She waits for me to settle down, lol.

What a lovely day preparing bread and yummy stuff while outside it's snowy and cold ❤️

Baking is one way to stay warm when cold outside for sure.

I fill my jars up to the top as far as I can so as not to get an unpleasant taste to a thin top dark layer. I scrape it off and jar is fine then.

I will do that from now on, Mike. I tend to like the Gasseri tablets over the L Reuteri for taste. Still haven't done the third bacteria yet. Maybe next time I make it. I need to get more half and half. Glad you are still making it for yourself. Have you noticed any benefits?

Nothing outstanding but I can get all the help I can //
