Before the Day 3 chaos kicked in, we took a moment to slow things down and indulge in something sacred, a breakfast date at Shaka Siargao. If you know, you know: this place is a must for anyone craving fresh, healthy bites in an island setting that’s just chef’s kiss. Bonus points if you roll up in a whole color-coordinated slay, which of course, we did!
After two days of pure island energy, we needed this breather. Each of us showed up in bright, happy colors to match the tropical chic aesthetic of Shaka. Bright and colorful dresses, layered bracelets, beachy waves, and that effortless glow you can only get from sun, saltwater, and soul-satisfying friendship. We were giving coastal Barbie meets soft girl island diaries. Cute, comfy, and camera-ready.
Now, let’s talk food. Because Shaka didn’t come to play.
The wrap was my personal fave, packed with quinoa, fresh veggies, and so much flavor that I actually found myself lowkey emotional. It tasted so clean and wholesome but still hit the spot, you know? It was like my body said “thank you” with every bite. Definitely something I’d come back for. The kind of dish that makes you believe healthy can actually be delicious and IG-worthy.
We paired it with coffee lattes served in gorgeous cups, topped with pretty latte art that made us hesitate before taking that first sip (but don’t worry, we did). And of course, giant chocolate chip muffins for that sweet balance. The muffins were everything, crunchy on top, gooey in the center, and big enough to share (but none of us wanted to).
Our phones were laid out beside our drinks like part of the tablescape, and before we even touched the food, it was photo session time. Classic us. But that’s the beauty of traveling with your girls, everyone gets the assignment.
While sipping our lattes and taking bites between laughs, we took that moment to plan out our third day. Yup, breakfast planning is a thing when you’re traveling with a bunch of strong-willed but totally fabulous women.
We mapped out our stops, discussed the vibe for each location, and of course, chose our outfits. Because island touring without a matching outfit plan? Couldn’t be us. We talked colors, textures, accessories, and even hairstyle goals for the day. We also went through our budget to make sure everyone was comfortable with the planned expenses, because let’s be real, we’re fun, but we’re also financially responsible queens.
There’s something so wholesome about planning your next adventure over a good meal. It reminded me that travel isn’t just about the big stops or the dramatic scenery. Sometimes, it’s in those quiet in-between moments, the slow breakfasts, the shared laughs, the silent glances that say “I’m so glad we’re doing this.”
Shaka gave us a space to breathe, reflect, and reconnect, not just with the island, but with each other. It was more than just food. It was a reset button wrapped in tortilla and served with a side of sisterhood.
And with our plan in place and our bellies full, we were SO ready for Day 3. But more on that… in the next post.
