Making Acehnese-style *sambal ganja* (Fresh shrimp sambal)

in Foodies Bee Hiveyesterday

Ganja sambal is a chili sauce that originates from Aceh, or also known as sambal asam udeng, which is mixed with belimbing wuluh ( bilimbi) and several other spices.
It's called ganja acid because its savory, spicy, and sweet taste is addictive, like marijuana or narcotics. But don't worry, this ganja chili sauce doesn't contain any narcotics or marijuana at all. Hehehe.

When we enjoy this marijuana chili sauce, it makes us addicted and want to enjoy it again until we are satisfied, not only that, but the next day we will also want to enjoy it again, so this is called marijuana chili sauce, just like when we enjoy marijuana, hehehe.
You understand now why this sambal is called "marijuana sambal," right?

It sounded really appealing, so I decided to make it right away. I grabbed some fresh shrimp and picked some belimbing wuluh ( bilimbi fruit) straight from the tree, along with other ingredients like lemongrass, shallots, and fresh bird's-eye chilies; for seasoning, I used only salt and a little flavor enhancer

If you're curious about the making process, simply follow the step-by-step guide I'm sharing in today's post.

Materials used

Some fresh shrimp, 3 fresh bilimbi fruits, 1 stalk of lemongrass, 2 shallots, 5 fresh bird's eye chilies, 3 lime leaves, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp seasoning powder.

Manufacturing procedure

First

First, I boil the shrimp using water until the shrimp changes color to reddish or the shrimp is cooked.

Second

Next, I started chopping all the ingredients such as starfruit, lemongrass, shallots, garlic, lime leaves and also chilies.

1000698504.jpg1000698505.jpg

Third

After the shrimp were cooked, I combined all the ingredients—lemongrass, bilimbi, shallots, and chilies—and pounded them together with the shrimp; I also made sure to add salt and seasoning.

RESULTS

And here is the result, my marijuana chili sauce is ready and can be enjoyed immediately like this, just take a plate of warm rice and you can immediately enjoy the spicy, savory taste and it will make us addicted, guys.

Even I myself am very addicted when making this marijuana chili sauce, so when I don't want to eat rice or I'm not in the mood to eat rice, for example, I immediately make this marijuana chili sauce and immediately my appetite will be addicted again.

Thank you 🙂🤗
