
Hi my foodie friends, today I'm going to try cooking something I've never done before: a dish made from blackbirds, also known as waterbirds. This is a type of edible bird, and according to some bird lovers, it's especially delicious when cooked with a special spice mix prepared by the bird seller.
In my area, there's a bird seller who sells the spices. He mixes the spices himself and sells them for 5,000 rupiah, while the birds themselves are sold for 50 rupiah. Five birds are available. What do you think? Is it a bargain? Lately, people in my village have been flocking to buy birds from him, and I'm curious to know what these birds taste like when cooked.

I bought 5 of them and I will cook them all with a mixture of spices from the poultry trader, after I asked what spices he mixed, he answered that the spices such as shallots, garlic, red chilies, dried chilies, coriander, star anise, cinnamon, nutmeg, and roasted coconut were already in it, this is what the spice mixture looks like

I only prepared the coconut milk, as much as 1 liter and I also prepared shallots and curry leaves, and the most difficult thing in my opinion was the process of cutting and cleaning it hehee.. but it's okay, my husband was in charge of cutting and cleaning the bird, because this was his idea to cook poultry, he said it had been a long time since my husband had eaten poultry like this, according to him, bird meat is very delicious and he likes it

Materials used

200 grams of mixed spices
1 liter of coconut milk
1 onion
1 stalk of curry leaves
Manufacturing procedure
After I cleaned and cut the bird, my husband cut it, then I added salt and lime, while I chopped the shallots and curry leaves, I removed the stalks.

I sautéed the shallots and curry leaves, after they wilted I added a little bit of the spices and sautéed them, then I added the excess spices to the pan containing the poultry.

I also added coconut milk to the poultry. Then I stirred it with my hands until it was evenly mixed. Then I added it to the pan with the spices. I continued cooking until the poultry meat was tender.

RESULTS

and this is the result, after the meat was tender I turned off the stove, let it cool for a while then served it on a serving plate, and the bird meat was eaten with warm rice, this poultry meat was very tender while the spices also penetrated the meat perfectly

Look at the meat which is very tender and the sauce is thick, the taste of the poultry meat turns out to be delicious and even better than chicken. heheh, to be honest, this is my first time cooking and eating poultry meat and after I ate it today, it looks like I will be addicted to cooking it again in the future,
