Grilled Sausages with Simple Seasoning

Sausage is a dish that is very quick to prepare, anyone can enjoy it easily, just by frying or grilling it, it is already very delicious.




This time, I really want to try this street food at home and try making it myself. Of course, with a simple sauce like the street food I bought before.

Honestly, I've never cooked sausages like this before. I usually see them at street markets where they sell grilled sausages at fairly cheap prices. Of course, the dish is appealing and delicious, so I'm quite eager to try making it at home. Grilled sausage certainly has characteristics that are different from usual dishes, creating a spicy, savory, slightly sweet taste. Its delicious taste makes it loved by everyone, so anyone who tries it will really enjoy it.

With simple ingredients and a few sauce combinations, I came up with the idea to cook it and experiment on my own. Here are some of the ingredients I prepared.




Ingredients

15 sausages
1 tablespoon chili sauce
1 tablespoon tomato sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce




Procedure For Making


Prepare the sausages, cut the top of the sausages as desired.

Then I skewered the sausages on skewers, but I found this process quite difficult because the sausages fell apart. I think I cut the sausages too much, all the way to the bottom.

Mix all the sauces, then add the oyster sauce and soy sauce and stir everything until evenly mixed.

Grill the sausages on a Teflon pan, then brush them with the seasoning. Cook and flip them until they are fully cooked. I let them cook until they turn golden brown.

Results


Street food sausages are now available at home. Everything looks so appealing. The combination of sausage and seasoning is perfectly absorbed. Although I don't think it's perfect yet, they don't puff up like the ones sold on the street. I think this might be because the sausages I used are small. I will try making them again later with bigger sausages.

After preparing this, I also saw on the internet that some people boil the sausages first before grilling them so that they puff up. However, I didn’t do that step. I highly recommend you try it next time.

Even though the result isn’t perfect yet, the taste is definitely not disappointing. It’s just right on the tongue. Spicy, sweet, and savory all come together, and I love enjoying it while it’s still warm, with all the seasoning soaking in nicely. Plus, the kerstan really makes a difference in the flavor.
