Hi foodie lover, good luck to all of you cooking special dishes. This time I will invite you to prepare a simple recipe from my area. This recipe has been around for a long time and was often a mainstay when I was sick with fever at home. My mother always served this porridge as a substitute for my lack of appetite for other foods.

Green Beans Ginger Porridge

Ginger pea porridge has always been my mainstay during rainy weather and even when I'm not feeling well. Served by boiling then serving the final result only a touch of sweetened condensed milk. This characterizes the presentation of the Acehnese ginger mung bean porridge. I'm not sure if other regions in Indonesia have similar dishes like this. What is clear is that from the time I was a child, I had memorized this porridge. My mother even prepared it during the rainy season in the afternoons so that her children would not go hungry at home.

Mung bean porridge, now very rare to find, in the past this porridge was often sold in coffee shops in villages in the morning to be used as breakfast by local people. The benefits of this porridge are also very good in addition to satiety, the use of ginger gives an extraordinary warmth effect felt by the body.

Now for more details, let's look at the preparation steps!

Ingredients Used

100 grams of mung beans
5 cm of ginger
1 pandan leaf
3 scoops of condensed sweetener (adjust)
1 teaspoon of salt
2 tablespoons of granulated sugar (optional)

Preparation Procedure

Boil mung beans with water for about 15 minutes, then let stand for 15 minutes while covered. Leave until the green beans are tender, if it has been 15 minutes reheat the beans, boil again then add salt and also pandan leaves during the boiling process.

Cut the ginger into several pieces, let it be large, then boil it again.

When the beans begin to cook, add sugar, see the beans have begun to open the aromatic skin, meaning that the beans are soft enough and cooked. Finally serve and add sweetened condensed milk for a delicious flavor.

Serve warm or even cold in the refrigerator is also very good. A touch of sweetened condensed milk will give it a great flavor. But if you don't like this you can skip it, the point is that this porridge is gingered. My mom's recipe usually also uses shallots as an additive but since I don't really like them I skip it.

The green beans are indeed very soft, which is the texture I wanted. Moreover, the addition of ginger makes it even fresher, there is a slightly spicy flavor from the ginger and it makes it even more delicious. The sweetness is just right I'm sure those of you who don't like too sweet this is a suitable choice for you.

Well make this porridge as your dessert or appetizer is also very suitable. And believe me this classic porridge dish is very light in the mouth.

The dessert looks so tasty. I will try to make it some day. 😍

Trying this is very easy.

These mung bean porridge look delicious. Very tempting. I think I've seen this bean in Venezuela, but I'm not sure if it's the same one. People commonly call it the Chinese bean. I'm not sure if it's the same one.

We call them green beans, but they are usually sold after being peeled in a sotf yellow color.

It's my first time seeing this recipe, yet I found it so interesting! It's a must-try.

Yeah try it buddy

Uuuh this is really a recipe that would drive me crazy 💗💗 I love the porridge and the ingredients you choose I would like to eat it for breakfast 💗
