Yesterday I just harvested my tomatoes, and I thought I’d cook my favorite dish this time. Even though the harvest wasn’t very big, I’m so happy to be able to put the tomatoes to good use in the kitchen. Tomatoes and chili peppers are always kitchen staples, and as you know, tomato prices have skyrocketed lately—so I’m really glad my garden plot is proving so useful for my kitchen.
Foodies out there—who here loves shrimp? You’ve got to check out this recipe because it’s definitely worth a try. This dish is a favorite of mine and my family’s: stir-fried shrimp combined with tomatoes and shallots to bring out the shrimp’s natural sweetness. The aroma of butter, used in place of oil, makes this dish even more special.

Butter-stir-fried shrimp is a favorite dish for my husband and me. I intentionally make it spicy with plenty of tomatoes from my garden. This dish tastes incredible—a perfect blend of sweet and savory on one plate—and I’m sure you’ll love it, especially during the rainy season. Trust me, this will be a truly special shrimp dish.
Curious about the preparation steps? Let’s take a look at the step-by-step instructions.
Ingredients

4 tomatoes
1 tablespoon of butter
7 bird’s eye chilies
7 shallots
7 cloves of garlic
1 teaspoon of salt
Preparation
Chop the fresh tomatoes from my garden into fairly large pieces, then clean the shrimp and marinate them with ½ teaspoon of salt and lime juice to taste.

Sauté the butter with red onions and garlic—leave them whole, don’t chop them—until softened.

Then add the shrimp, followed by the
chili peppers and tomatoes.

Cook until done, letting everything soften. Add just a pinch of salt and adjust the seasoning to taste; once it’s just right, it’s ready to serve.

Serving suggestion: Serve with white rice for a unique experience—the natural spicy, savory, and umami flavors really come through. This is an incredibly delicious dish—the spiciness really comes through when you break open the chili peppers, so even if you’re not a fan of spicy food, you can still enjoy it. My reason for adding whole chili peppers is that my husband likes it spicy, while I don’t like it too spicy, so it can be adjusted to suit individual tastes.

I’m so happy the shrimp cooked perfectly—the flavor is truly delicious, and the combination of flavors is just right. My husband also said it’s very tasty, and in his opinion, this is the best way to prepare shrimp.
