Hey foodie lovers, today is something different. I'm not cooking, but going out to hang out with my friends. We plan to break our fast outside at one of my friends' cafes. Actually, this meeting was impromptu, so there are only three of us, accompanied by my friends' children. I also met @ryanaa one of my friends on this platform. We’re all food enthusiasts, and food is a part of our souls.

This cafe is quite far from my house, about an hour's drive, located in the city of Lhokseumawe with a strategic location and a fairly large area. D'Royal Coffee is the name of the cafe. This cafe is indeed synonymous with the theme of cafes and restaurants, providing many food choices, and their best seller is definitely their coffee.

Since this was an iftar theme, the menu prepared was quite simple yet delicious, with a seafood-themed menu. It was quite complete with the authentic flavors of this cafe. You know, my other friend intentionally invited us to his restaurant to try his signature iftar menu. The atmosphere was quite lively, but we managed to get a spot indoors, making it safe for relaxing or bringing children.

We ordered a package for four with a variety of seafood dishes, sweet and sour grouper, black pepper shrimp, fried squid and fried chicken, as well as a stir-fry of bean sprouts with salted peda fish. It also came with four plates of rice and a simple drink of mineral water.

We deliberately ordered our favorite food, seafood, because not only do our children love it, but we also really enjoy the various dishes made from it. One of the dishes that tempted me was the sweet and sour snapper, which looked very appetizing.
Sweet and sour snapper is one of the best-selling seafood dishes here. It's quite expensive, but I don't know the exact price because we ordered a set menu. This dish is characterized by its sweet and sour sauce, which is spicy and savory.

The complete sweet and sour sauce is poured over the fried snapper, which is slightly moist. The portion is quite large, and most importantly, the sauce has an appealing color and the taste is definitely spot on.

The sauce contains bell peppers, pineapple, carrots, and onions. The taste is incredibly tempting—sweet, spicy, and tangy. When I tried it with a spoon, the fish was perfectly tender and went wonderfully with the sweet and sour sauce, even though it was just drizzled on top.

Next up is fried chicken serundeng is coconut and fried squid, two simple dishes that are quite tantalizing. Although the chicken is similar to chicken galangal, it is not the same. The flavor is more dominant in grated coconut. In my opinion, the scrambled eggs, which are usually smoother, are a bit coarse, just like grated coconut. However, since it’s cooked evenly, the chicken is perfectly cooked, so the taste is just right and suits my palate perfectly.

The same goes for the fried squid—it tastes delicious, and the squid isn’t tough at all. Unfortunately, it’s already cold, so it’s not crispy anymore. I’ve been wanting to eat crispy squid for so long.

This particular menu item is indeed a best seller at this restaurant. My friend said that the chef here is very skilled at cooking simple dishes that are simply unbeatable in taste.

Black pepper shrimp is one of my favorites. The spiciness is irresistible, sweet, and the pepper aroma is very strong, but it tastes delicious. The sprinkling of fried onions gives it a different touch, in my opinion. What I like most is the thick sauce, which has its own appeal that makes you want to finish it quickly. While eating, I couldn't stop being grateful and was very happy to be able to try these delicious dishes.
At first, I thought this stir-fried bean sprouts tasted just like regular bean sprouts. But after mixing it with rice, it turned out to be completely different. The concept of this dish is simple yet delicious, you know? It's a blend of bean sprouts cooked just right—not overdone—combined with finely chopped, fried peda salted fish. The bean sprouts are cooked separately, and the fried fish flakes are used as a topping, just like fried onions.

It's savory, slightly salty, yet perfect—I really love this combination. I have to try making my own version at home because it's that delicious.
The meal isn't just that my friend bought a tuna fish pizza kit for the kids. But again, the kids only ate one slice, and the rest of us—or rather, I—enjoyed it. I love pizza, and this different version with tuna combined on a pizza is so delicious.

It's savory and absolutely perfect; I have to try it if I have tuna at home. What's special about this iftar package is that it also includes dates—everything is so complete.
Well, we didn't finish all the food we enjoyed. We even ordered three more iced teas, and they all made us so full. And you know how much we paid? IDR 320,000. We got to enjoy breaking our fast together to our heart's content, and the menu was absolutely delicious.

After we finished breaking our fast, we took photos together to capture this meeting, which happens maybe one to three times a year. That's why we have to make the most of this meeting.

For those of you visiting Lhokseumawe, don't forget to stop by D'royal Coffee Café. Besides its beautiful setting, the café offers many delicious dishes, so don't hesitate to drop in. It's not far from the city—just on Stadion Street in Lhokseumawe.
