Tempted By A Delicious Panettone

Back in this new year, today I want to share a delicious panettone recipe with you. It's the first time I've made it; I was always tempted to prepare it but never dared to. This time, I overcame my insecurity and got to work. Perhaps it's not like the ones they sell, but the result was excellent for me.

De vuelta en este nuevo año, hoy les quiero compartir un delicioso Panettone, es la primera vez que lo hago; siempre estaba tentada a prepararlo y no me atrevía a realizarlo, pero esta vez vencí mi inseguridad y me puse manos a la obra; quizás no sea como los que venden, pero el resultado para mí fue excelente.

Once I had acquired some ingredients, I decided to make the mixture to eat for New Year's Eve dinner; it turned out to be very easy to prepare. With the help of a friend's explanation and a tutorial she found on social media, I was able to make it; I couldn't pass up the opportunity to add a new recipe to my personal collection. The batch I made was small, although later, at the request of my family, I had to make a larger one on Three Kings' Day, taking my time.

Una vez que adquirí algunos ingredientes, me propuse hacer la mezcla para comerlo en la cena del Año Nuevo; me resultó una preparación muy sencilla. Con la explicación de una amiga y un tutorial que me orientó por las redes sociales, me apoyé para prepararlo; no podía pasar la oportunidad de sumar una nueva receta a mi recetario personal. La muestra que hice fue pequeña, aunque después, a petición de mis familiares, tuve luego que hacer uno más grande el día de los Reyes, con más calma.

Ingredients:

  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 120 grams sugar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated yeast
  • 1 tablespoon panettone essence
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 250 ml warm water
  • 500 grams all-purpose flour
  • 250 grams chocolate chips
  • 100 grams strawberries

  • 120 gramos de azúcar
  • 1 cucharada de levadura (granulada)
  • 1 cucharada de esencia de panetón

  • 500 gramos de harina de trigo
  • 250 gramos de chispas de chocolate
  • 100 gramos de frutilla

Preparation First Step:

In a bowl, add the eggs (there is no specific order); add the sugar, yeast, butter, essences, water and start mixing with a mixer or blender for about 10 minutes.

En un bol, agregamos los huevos, no hay un orden especifico; añadimos el azúcar, la levadura, la mantequilla, las esencias, el agua y comenzamos a mezclar con la batidora o licuadora por unos 10 minutos.

Second Step:

Once well mixed, begin to incorporate the flour, little by little, mixing with a wooden spatula until everything is combined; the dough should be thick. Now add the chocolate chips; the amount is up to you; mix again to combine.

Una vez bien mezclado, comenzamos a incorporarle la harina, poco a poco, y vamos mezclando con una paleta de madera, hasta integrar todo; la masa debe quedar gruesa. Ahora le añadimos las chispas de chocolate; la cantidad queda a tu elección; volvemos a mezclar para integrar.

Third Step:
Now transfer the batter to the panettone mold; if you don't have one, you can pour it into an aluminum mold that is 14 cm in diameter x 14 cm high. Both should be greased beforehand. Do not fill them completely; pour the batter only halfway into the molds.

Ahora pasamos la masa al molde de Panettone; si no tienes, puedes vaciarlo en un molde de aluminio que tenga una capacidad de 14 cm de diámetro x 14 de alto. Ambos previamente engrasados. No debes llenarlo por completo; vacía la mezcla hasta la mitad de los moldes.

Fourth Step:

Once we've poured the mixture, we proceed to add more chocolate sprinkles; in my case, I added my own touch and added strawberries; finally, to make it brown, we add butter on top.

Una vez que vaciamos la mezcla, procedemos a colocarle más lluvia de chocolate; en mi caso le puse mi toque y le añadí frutillas; por último, para que dore, se le coloca mantequilla por encima.

I let it rest for about 10 minutes and then put it in the oven; I keep an eye on it, as my oven doesn't have temperature settings. I check it every 20 minutes; when it starts to rise and turn golden brown, I insert a toothpick to see if it's cooked through. If it comes out clean and starts to smell good, I take it out. The average baking time in an oven under optimal conditions would be 180°C for about 40 minutes.

Lo dejé reposar por unos 10 minutos y luego los metí al horno; lo voy monitoreando, mi horno no tiene graduación; aproximadamente en 20 minutos voy observando; cuando comienza a subir y a ponerse dorado, introduzco un palillo a ver si se ha cocinado por dentro; si sale limpio y comienza a oler, lo saco. El promedio de tiempo en un horno en óptimas condiciones sería de 180° por unos 40 minutos.
