When Ben and I go out on dates, we always want to explore new restaurants because most often, the restaurants we've been to didn't really leave a strong impression for our taste. Food is just average.
In one of our casual dates, we tried Army Navy in Ayala Center Cebu. Although this has been here for quite some time, it's my first time trying their food. My initial impression is that the restaurant is expensive and as for its taste, it caters the liking of foreigners more than the locals.
It was a workday and traffic was awful, so I arrived late in the mall. Most of the restaurants are almost closing so we settled in Army Navy as a last resort. We entered the restaurant with not much expectation.
Ben said Army Navy is famous for their Liberty Iced Tea, a canned iced tea specialty. But since I don't drink iced tea, we ordered their food specialties instead- Burrito, fried chicken, and quesadilla.
There were also some last minute customers like us in the restaurant- most of them are corporate locals. So my initial impression of their customers (more foreigners than locals), isn't entirely true after all. Ben's family often eats here, he says.
As for their food, I still find it "average", but it could pass for quick brunches because their serving could really fuel an empty stomach. I especially love their quesadilla because it has avocados and salsa sauce. My least favorite among our order is the fried chicken since there's nothing unique about it except their gravy sauce. Ben loves their burrito.
Rate: 8/10
Lastly, for the price, it's reasonable. Not expensive but also not cheap.
I guess all my first impressions about this restaurant are debunked. And yes, I would definitely go back here again.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
