It seems that in the future I will make a ‘Food Experience’ segment when I travel to several places (outside my hometown) because I think this will be very fun to tell. For me who loves food and traveling, I want you to know and I will remember my writing here in the future.

I started this segment when I visited Yangon, a city in Myanmar. A beautiful city with very friendly people. As a Muslim who likes to travel, sometimes the obstacle I experience is that finding halal food is very difficult. Myanmar is a country where Muslims are a minority, so that doesn't make me give up on getting food.

Usually I choose 2 restaurants, an Indian restaurant and a vegan restaurant. Both are options that I will always consider. Especially vegan restaurants, because they don't use animal meat so it could be the right choice.

But unfortunately, in Yangon it is easier for me to find an Indian restaurant like this. I was at Kyat Shar Soon Biryani which turned out to be very close to the hotel where I was staying. Located 1 km away with a 15-minute walk, I can enjoy a very delicious lunch here.

Biryani is one of my favorite foods that is my top tier choice. I like the texture of basmati rice which is slightly longer than other rice, it also has more flavor and a texture that is not too soft but also not too hard.

There are two choices of biryani rice here, chicken and goat. Of course they only sell biryani rice, there are no other menu options. But what you should know, this restaurant is quite crowded and popular with the wider community. In fact, we almost ran out of biryani rice which they said was the last pot they had. In fact, it was only 01.00 pm, right when lunch time started.

There were many condiments, there was a soup containing green vegetables with a little tomato. Sliced cabbage, cayenne pepper, masala paste and salt. A little highlight in the vegetable soup, the color is a little strange but believe me it tastes very delicious!

One portion of my goat biryani rice has a very large portion. You can imagine how full I was eating one plate like this and finished. Of course I really need food to make my energy back full. Yangon city is so warm, I walked around here, visited some cool places and met local people who are very humble, polite and of course easy to smile.

I found it very interesting to learn a little about Yangon's gastronomy, the differences with the food we eat on this side of the world never cease to amaze me.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

I only stopped by a few restaurants, there are a lot of street food here with the difficult economic situation, but, there really is no failure.

I'm always been about biryani, especially the rice used in it. I think there are people who sells biryani in some places if Philippines but we don't have it in our area. I always know it is really flavorful as I saw some vlogger making it and with the seasonings and aromatics used, I can already imagine how good it is. Good for you, you enjoy your food there ✨💃

Basmati rice is really expensive, isn't it?

I love food so much and cooking as well. Very interesting for me to learn it seriously

Wow, it would be so much fun if I could cook like you!

Lol thank you so much
