If a friend asks me to recommend something related to Thai food, besides trying Street Food in Thailand, there is one word that comes to mind for me. Cha Tra Mue. Seriously, this is a must try if you go to Thailand.
We all know that Thailand is very friendly to tourists from anywhere. They are like a gateway for all people living on this earth. For some reason, besides the food that suits my tongue, the very good nuances make Thailand, especially Bangkok, a favorite destination.
But did you know that they have a very delicious drink that still survives until now?
That's Cha Tra Mue, one of the most affordable and most delicious Thai tea brands (in my opinion), not only does it taste good, its merchants are everywhere in crowded places. All malls, some of them are even in popular places that are crowded with many people.
I got cha tra mue which is located in platinum mall. It is on the 6th floor which can be accessed even if you are in pratunam market. At that time I was indeed eyeing cha tra mue on this quite warm day, because cha tra mue is like a charger to recharge my tiring energy.
The 6th floor of platinum mall is not just an ordinary thing, but this is a food court, so many snacks and merchants selling food and drinks. It is really crowded because platinum mall is famous for its extraordinary crowds, so, after a day of shopping and going straight to the 6th floor to eat and drink.
There are many menus at cha tra mue, even tea topped with bubble like the famous Taiwanese tea. There are also various types of tea that they sell with various flavors too. I only know a few colors, but it turns out there are so many types. They are very up to date with tea. Even now there is matcha green tea.
One glass that is big enough to make me full, but, the tradition that I found in Thailand is that this glass is very full of ice cubes. So it is really very cold and the taste is maintained. I even once brought cha tra mue and the ice cubes did not melt easily. So, you should wait 5-10 minutes after take away and then sip the tea. I think it's better because if you drink it straight away it will be too sweet.
