Siomay: My Regional Specialty

Hello foodies 👋👋

Hello also to the admins @foodiesbeehive and @foodiesunite 👋👋🙏🥰

Greetings everyone, I'm a new member of this community and a new user on Hive.

I'm a foodie, so I wanted to write and participate in sharing my culinary experiences. This post also serves as a way to express my gratitude to @palomap3 for welcoming me warmly and kindly into the world of Hive. So, since it's likely to be a long journey, I'll just share how to make the dish I'm currently working on.

Okay, in this first post, I want to review how to make Siomay. First, let me tell you that Siomay is a specialty from my region. It's a snack or can also be eaten as a hunger quencher for office or factory workers during breaks.

Below, I'll show you some photos of the ingredients, and in accordance with community guidelines, I'll show you how to make the somay dough.

Ingredients Needed:

1. Ingredients for Somay Dough

- 1 kg Chicken

- ½ kg Fish

- 2 kg Tapioca

- 1 kg Wheat Flour

- 6 pieces of Royko Chicken (rice flour)

- 1 bunch of ground coriander

- 2 white peppercorns

- Salt and MSG to taste

- Garlic and shallots to taste

- Approximately 1 tablespoon of water

- Raw tofu

Combine all these ingredients in a bowl and mix by hand (make sure your hands are clean). You can also mix with a large spoon. Remember, the dough shouldn't be too soft or too thick; adjust the ingredients according to the measurements I've mentioned above.

After mixing all the ingredients, shape the dough into an oval shape using a tablespoon, then place it on top of the tofu pieces. The other one is shaped like a rose, as seen in the photo below:

Then, simply steam everything. The result will look like this:

2. Peanut Sauce Ingredients

- 1 kg Peanuts

- 4 sheets of Royko (rice flour)

- ¼ Sugar

- Salt and MSG to taste

- Garlic and shallots

- Red chili pepper

- 1 white peppercorn

To make the peanut sauce, as above, mix all the ingredients and blend until smooth. The amount of water should be measured based on the amount of ingredients you will be using for the peanut sauce. Once blended, heat it.

The result should look like this:

So, that's the tutorial in brief. For more details, please share your knowledge. And if I can't reply to comments quickly, it's because I'm low on resource credit.

Thank you for your attention. I apologize for any spelling errors.
