Do you have your eternal struggle? Well as for me, it’s deciding where to eat. It’s always a tricky decision. But shoutout to my partner, Wil, for always coming through with suggestions ‘cause I’m usually too hangry to decide on my own 😅
So, around 1 pm, Wil had a bright idea ‘Let’s try Binondo!’ She suggested we try the Tasty Dumplings, located beside the iconic Binondo church in Manila. It is a tiny spot but you’ll notice it eventually because of the signage. Tasty Dumplings is known for its huge porkchop, and of course, dumplings.
The place kinda had that Mang Inasal vibe, minus the unlimited rice deal. On a normal day, the place gets packed. But let me tell you that the food is worth every second of the wait. Luckily, we went there at an off-peak time so we didn’t have to deal with any queues or lines.
After a couple of minutes, our order came. Wil ordered their specialty - pork chop rice while I ordered the sweet and sour chicken rice. I was surprised when I saw Wil’s plate. The pork chop was larger than the plate itself (and definitely bigger than my face, no kidding!) The pork chop is definitely the highlight of our lunch. That time, I wished I ordered the same 😅 Have you ever tasted what your company had ordered and thought 'Aww I should have ordered that!'. It happens to me all the time!

I opted for the sweet and sour chicken rice, and I hadn’t tried the one where the chicken was cooked separately from the sauce, so this was my first time. The chicken was crispy and I really enjoyed the combination. But while eating, I was looking at Wil's plate. I really should've ordered that too! I was happy 'cause Wil's sharing some Porkchop. She probably noticed I looked at her plate a lot of times already 😂
I was craving some soup so we ordered beef soup. It was still piping hot when they served it and it hit the spot. Perfect for calming our grumbling tummies. And of course, we ordered some dumplings too to know why it was named Tasty Dumplings. Their dumplings were juicy and meaty with their killer sauce, so yep, they lived up to their name.

Overall, we had a great lunch here at Tasty Dumplings. We’re already planning to go back to try their other special treats like Silver Roll Bread, Hongma, Tsay Mah Pao, and Spare Ribs. Oh! We also want to try their Wintermelon juice.
Tasty Dumplings isn’t just known for their tasty dumplings and pork chop rice. They also have a variety of dishes that you might want to try. So if you’re planning to dine there, check out their menu. I took a snap of it while we were waiting for our food. Which of these would you like to try?
