FERTILIZED DUCK EGG
This is one of the famous fertilized duck eggs that you’ve seen in street. Fertilized duck egg is incubated then boiled and you can eat this directly from the shell together with a salt and vinegar. This is developed duck embryo and considered one of its delicacies here in the Philippines. Many of the tourist I’ve seen online that if they’re going to visit here, they will try this food. Sound weird but yummy.
RAW SEA URCHIN/SWAKI
I personally get this Swaki from the sea during low tide. Thank God one appeared, because I was really curious and eager to taste it. I originally aimed to get Tuyom as well, but I only managed to collect Swaki since I didn’t bring complete gear.
Raw sea urchin with vinegar and spices was the perfect combination for a tasty swaki. It was my first time trying it, and I loved the flavor. I think I would still eat it again if it had a good balance of vinegar.
FILIPINO BARBACUE
This was something you’d often see on the streets—Filipino-style barbecue. It included chicken liver, intestines, feet, shrimp, meat, proben, and hotdog, all paired with spicy sauce. It was so delicious, especially since it matched the boodle-style meals we enjoyed as a family. I got the idea to prepare this so we could gather together as a family and share a meal. I wasn’t sure if others would eat this kind of food, but as a Filipina who grew up with it, I found it truly tasty.
LECHON BABOY/ ROAST PIG
Lechon Baboy was a whole pig that was roasted—one of the most iconic and well-loved dishes prepared during celebrations. It was stuffed with spices and herbs, then roasted over intensely hot charcoal for several hours, depending on the size of the pig. The process achieved a crispy golden skin and tender, flavorful meat that everyone enjoyed.
Visayan Vegetable Soup
Visayan Vegetable Soup, often called Utan Bisaya, is a traditional dish made by boiling a mix of local vegetables. When I cooked it, I included malunggay (moringa leaves), squash, okra, string beans, and any other vegetables you prefer. I simply seasoned it with salt, garlic, and onions for aroma, then served it hot. This dish pairs perfectly with rice and dried fish.
**Halo-Halo **
Halo-halo, or “mix-mix,” is a popular dessert in the Philippines because of its delightful medley of sweetened fruits, nata de coco, leche flan, ice cream, beans, jellies, cornflakes, and more (depend on you hehe). I believe it truly represents Filipino identity.
Aside from halo-halo, we also have mango tapioca, which is another favorite of mine. I love preparing it at home and serving it to my family.
SWEET POTATO FRIES
Who among youhere loves to eat this? I made it at home one day when I was craving something sweet. I thought, why not try making sweet potato fries instead of regular ones? So, I quickly prepared everything, did my mise en place, and set things up just right.
And there you go—my tummy was full! The fries were perfectly crisp, and the caramelized sugar added such a rich, flavorful touch. I hope you get to try this at home too!
SAMGYUPSAL
Samgyupsal—the beloved Korean BBQ experience—is something I truly enjoy, especially when it's unlimited and shared with my barkada. There's just something about the savory grilled meat, flavorful side dishes, and spicy kimchi that makes the whole dining experience unforgettable. Honestly, I can’t even explain it properly right now… I just want it! Writing this blog is making me crave it all over again. Sorry, not sorry! 😅
SIZZLING SISIG
This dish, also known as sizzling chopped pork, is my all-time favorite—my ultimate comfort food. Although the preparation takes a while (a couple of hours, actually!), the effort is absolutely worth it. It has a top of raw egg until it gets cooks in a sizzling plate. In the end, you’ll be smiling from ear to ear, satisfied with its rich flavor and mouthwatering goodness.
CHEF MARQUIN’S BURGERHOUSE PH
I always saw this kind of burger on social media, and it instantly captured my interest—especially the way they used a blow torch to melt the cheese. So, I headed straight to their burger house and placed an order. The burger was good, but I was hoping to see their live torching exhibition. Unfortunately, I missed it—but oh well, the burger still hit the spot!
Honestly, I feel like I need to buy my own blow torch and melt the cheese myself next time… just kidding (but not really)!
CORN OR MAIZE?
Maize—my mama really worked hard to plant it so that we could harvest and eat it in the future. And that time? It's finally here! No need to buy corn from the market anymore—just walk around our yard, pick some, and eat to your heart’s content. It's an unlimited harvest... as long as your stomach can keep up.
Her hard work definitely bore fruit (or corn 🌽, in this case). As for me? I’m just the designated eater—tig-kaon lang jud ko, hahaha! But seriously, thank you Mama. You're the real MVP of our backyard buffet!
MORNING MEAL AT THE FARM
During our breakfast in the countryside, I prepared a delightful mix of Filipino favorites—crispy fried bangus, juicy hotdogs, fried rice, ripe mango slices, and saba bananas that were just about to be cooked. The fresh air and rustic setting made the meal even more special, turning a simple breakfast into a comforting experience.
JOLLIBEE
“One of the most famous fast-food chains in the Philippines is Jollibee. It’s a favorite among Filipinos because of its delicious food, especially loved by children. Signature items include Chickenjoy, Yumburger, Burger Steak, Jolly Spaghetti, and Peach Mango Pie.
CHOWKING
This fast-food meal includes savory fried rice and crispy fried siomai—I swear, I could eat two servings of Chao Fan, haha!
RIBSHACK
This is our go-to meal when we’re on a tight budget—haha! It’s unlimited, super tasty, and surprisingly affordable for everyone. I personally love the ribs part, especially when it’s paired with unlimited rice and an ice-cold Mountain Dew.
RAMEN
I’m sorry, but I only eat this occasionally. As a Filipina, I prefer Filipino food, and I’m just not used to eating this kind of dish—that’s probably why it didn’t quite pass my taste. But my friend loves it! Maybe I should start practicing eating this kind of food, just in case I get to travel to different places someday—hehe.
ALBERTOS PIZZA
The Hawaiian Alberto’s Pizza tastes great, is budget-friendly, and has generous toppings. So, if you’re craving something cheesy, quirky, and wallet-friendly, Alberto’s Pizza is a solid choice. It’s perfect for casual hangouts, late-night cravings, or just treating yourself without breaking the bank.
FOOD OFFER AT QUEST HOTEL (Pusô Bistro & Bar)
These are the dishes offered at Quest Hotel in Cebu—so delicious and with a wide variety to choose from! I absolutely loved the pastries, huhu. You can expect a delightful mix of Filipino and international cuisine that perfectly matches our taste.
SAMSAN MILKTEA AND GREENICH
Samsan Milk Tea is a well-known spot in our locality, especially popular for its refreshing drinks and samgyupsal offerings. I paired my milk tea with a burger, which made for a satisfying combo. Later, when we arrived home, we ordered from Greenwich. The tuna and pasta dish were surprisingly good—the sauce blended perfectly with, making it a delightful match.
FRESH BUKO JUICE
After all, nothing beats a fresh buko after indulging in those delicious dishes. This classic refreshment, made from the water and soft meat of young coconuts, is hydrating, naturally sweet, and packed with nutrients. It’s the perfect tropical treat to cap off a hearty meal.”
As a conclusion, Thanks God for all the blessings and thanks guys if you’re reading this. See you on our next vlog. Bye for now
