Hello my dear friends of Foodie by hive, I hope you are well today. This time I want to share with you this caramelized pineapple recipe that I made this weekend. I confess that I bought a pineapple and I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it. That's when I remembered this week's contest sponsored by @qurator from Hive Top Chef: quick and easy, and I came up with this recipe that besides being very tasty is very easy and is done in a few minutes.

Hola mis queridos amigos de Foodie by hive, espero que se encuentren bien en el día de hoy. En esta ocasión quiero compartir con ustedes esta receta de piña caramelizada que hice este fin de semana. Les confieso que compré una piña y no tenía muy claro que iba a hacer con ella. Fue entonces cuando recordé el concurso de esta semana patrocinado por @qurator de Hive Top Chef: rápido y sencillo, y se me ocurrió esta receta que aparte de ser muy rica es muy fácil y se hace en pocos minutos.


Ingredients//Ingredientes

1 medium pineapple//1 piña mediana
4 tablespoons brown sugar//4 cucharadas de azúcar morena
1/3 cup white rum//1/3 taza de ron blanco
Cinnamon//Canela

As I told you this recipe is very simple and the first thing to do is to peel the pineapple and chop it into slices about 1 cm thick.

Como bien les dije esta receta es muy sencilla y lo primero será pelar la piña y picarla en rodajas de 1 cm de grosor aproximadamente.

Then remove the center with a sharp knife, if you wish you can take a utensil that fits the center such as a pastry nozzle or a bottle cap to mark the center and then cut it and remove it. In my case I did not use it because the center was well defined and it was easy to remove it.

Luego se le retira el centro con un cuchillo bien filoso, si lo desean pueden tomar algún utensilio que quede acorde al centro como una boquilla de repostería o una tapa de botella para marcar el centro y luego cortarlo y retirarlo. En mi caso no lo utilicé porque el centro estaba bien definido y fue fácil quitarlo.

Next, add the sugar in a bowl and then add the cinnamon and mix so that it is well integrated.

Seguidamente, se agrega el azúcar en un recipiente para después incorporarle la canela y mezclar para que se integre bien.

Now dip each of the slices in the sugar and cinnamon mixture, trying to make it stick on both sides.

Ahora se pasa cada una de las rodajas por la mezcla de azúcar y canela tratando que se pegue en ambos lados.

Once this is done, place them one at a time in the previously greased pan so that they do not stick and add half of the rum to cook over medium heat.

Una vez hecho esto se ponen de una en una en el sartén previamente engrasado para que no se peguen y se le agrega la mitad del ron para que vaya cocinando a fuego medio.

After it absorbs all the rum, turn it over and add the remaining rum and let it cook for a few more minutes until the caramel is golden brown.

Después que absorba todo ese ron se le da la vuelta y se añade el ron restante y se deja cocinar unos minutos más hasta que se observe el caramelo bien dorado.

This looks so sweet but I wanna try this recipe with no sugar because I am not into too much sweets.

You can try it like this too because pineapple has a very good natural sweet which I don't know if it will be golden brown, maybe in the oven it will. It is an interesting proposal.

i love pineapples so much, and although i have never had it caramelized like this, but i definitely would love to try, seem delicious.
