Instead of choosing high-carb ingredients, of course I will divert my mind to choosing high-protein ingredients.
Honestly, I'm lazy to make breakfast. Are you the same as me who are lazy if you wake up just to make breakfast? But the fact is that if we don't have breakfast, our bodies will lack energy because in the morning we will also do many things to continue our lives, right?
Usually I will leave my cooking while doing other jobs such as cleaning the house, washing clothes or looking at my garden. So I will prioritize breakfast that is easy to make and I can leave them alone and suddenly they are cooked by themselves.
I cook with a rice cooker is my best choice in my opinion besides saving gas. Because breakfast is usually simpler than lunch or dinner so you don't need to worry about that.
In Indonesia, you will be more familiar with eating rice three times a day. That's why, for people who choose to start a healthy life, they will reduce eating rice. So just like me, there are many people who ultimately choose not to have rice for breakfast.
A breakfast idea that I made this time is without rice and high in protein. Comes from tofu and eggs. Tofu will make the egg texture chewy but still soft.
This dish can be for two people, even though I only put it in one container for steaming. Finishing the whole thing is really not possible! Come on, let's try to make it.
THE INGREDIENTS
- 100 grams of tofu
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp of ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp of salt
Cooking Steps
Mash Tofu
I use a heat-resistant ceramic bowl that can be used for steaming later. So, I can save bowls.
Mash the tofu in a bowl using a fork. No need to use a food processor so that the texture of the tofu does not become like porridge.
Add Eggs
After I finished mashing the tofu, then I added 2 eggs, also ground coriander, and salt.
Mix well until everything is evenly mixed and ready to be steamed.
Steam The Mixture
Previously I had boiled water with a rice cooker. The amount of water should not be too high, I adjusted it to the height of my ceramic bowl that will be used to steam the mixture.
After the water boils, carefully put in the bowl containing the mixture. Then, I steamed the mixture for 20 minutes.
While waiting for the egg and tofu mixture to cook, I did other work. Or I could prepare the sauce.
The Results
Look at the hot steam. It's really fresh from the rice cooker instead of fresh from the oven. Ehehe
Be careful when removing a bowl from a rice cooker. Because I used a ceramic bowl, the mixture didn't become sticky and was easy to remove.
After removing it from the bowl, the result actually looked like a cake. But it has a chewy and soft texture.
Then I cut the tofu cake into two parts. I ate this menu with spicy soy sauce!
