Hello Foodies lovers !!
Today I want to share one of my mainstay dishes at home that always succeeds in making me add more rice even though it's an old date 😅 - it's called "Jangan Lombok" (calm down, it doesn't mean without chili!) . It's a homemade recipe that tastes savory and spicy , and the aroma makes the neighbors come over !!
🧄 LOVE KITCHEN INGREDIENTS :
•1 handful of green chili peppers (±200 gr)
•2 cloves of garlic
•10 cloves shallots
•5 red chili peppers (or to taste)
•1 galangal segment (crushed)
•2 bay leaves
•½ tablespoon salt
•1 tsp micin (can skip if anti)
•1 stick of brown sugar
•200 gr tempeh (cut into small pieces)
•1 liter coconut milk (real coconut is better)
🍳 HOW TO COOK IT - DON'T TAKE IT SERIOUSLY, JUST MAKE IT TASTY:
-Thinly slice the green chilies, don't be stingy!
-Tempeh cut into small pieces, don't make it big, it will just float 😆
-Fry red chili , garlic , shallots , and sliced green chili .. So it doesn't smell langù ..
-Fry the tempeh too, but only half-cooked.
-Grind shallots + garlic (I use a manual press to feel the effort ✊). The chili is just enough to be coarsely ground, so that there is still a bite sensation of chili.
-Pour coconut milk into the pot, add all the spices + galangal + bay leaf + brown sugar + salt + micin.
-Cook on high heat while stirring constantly, don't leave it for coffee - the coconut milk will break 😅.
-After boiling, let it sit until it's cooked, so that the marinade will blend in and release its great aroma!
🍚 "JANGAN LOMBOK" IS READY TO EAT!
It's best eaten with steamed rice ,, tempeh and tofu ,, plus fresh spinach and chayote ..So complete, so simple but so delicious! 🌿🔥🔥
Oh yes, I apologize if the dish looks like it was made below, not on the table. Understandably, I'm currently migrating in Jakarta and living in a small rental. I don't have a lot of furniture and cooking utensils yet. But for me, that's not a reason to stop working and sharing. Instead, from this limitation, I learn to stay enthusiastic, creative, and not ashamed to show the process as it is ✨
💬 Let's chat!
Has anyone ever made a "no chili" too? Or have your own version? Or do you guys call it differently in your area?
Tell us in the comments! ✨
Keep supporting local home cooking like this, so that more people are inspired to cook for themselves ❤️
