Hi guys, what kind of dishes do you have for lunch? Adhere, hi to everyone in food and culture. My name is Andin, and I like to share many things about foodies and any dishes that capture my mind. I loved to eat, and there are many food pictures in my gallery that are nice be share in this community.

This time, I want to share my story of my mother's good meals for lunch that were inspired by her gastronomy, which relates to her symptoms, high cholesterol level. Yet, before my family loved deep-fried dishes, in my country, it is called 'gorengan'.

Many kinds of gorengan will sell near the crossroads in their area, not to mention that my sister, who is part of the home-cooked food in my house, also likes to fry many dishes. In fact, the Indonesian subsidiary's food is rice, then many side dishes are similar to 'gorengan'.

Despite my mother being against deep-fried food, one day, about a few days ago, we decided to make salad for lunch as my sister made some baked potatoes in Indonesian fusion style. I assist my mother in preparing some of the salad ingredients. Because there were many green veggies in the refrigerator, we made the lettuce salad with some of the croutons and dressed it with delish mayonnaise that my mom bought at the last time she went to the supermarket.

Our salad for lunch is yummy, I think, because the green veggies do not taste too bitter, but it enhances the flavour when paired with the dressing. The croutons were the idea of my sister, and are also great paired when eaten with salad. We just have two slices of leftover wheat bread that are disappointing, because we made salad when the wheat bread was left with just two slices. Next time, it will be great to make many croutons.

Then, our salad ingredients are just four hero ingredients. It is zucchini, purple cabbage, iceberg lettuce, and romaine lettuce. All of the ingredients were bought at the modern-traditional market that hype in my region called 'Pasmod BSD'. If my mother were asking me, my daddy, and my sister to accompany her to shop the groceries and protein as the storage for my three-week meals, then buying the groceries is the first pitstop.

Oh, I forgot about the main dishes that paired with my salad, it is a baked potato in Indonesian style, many Indonesian people know it as a 'pastel tutup'. Pastel itself is like a smashed flavourful potato that covers its filling, because the smashed potato is covered with the filling above it, then we call it 'pastel tutup', or it might refer to ragout covered with smashed potato. Then, the filling that my sister made for her 'pastel tutup' is a vegetable ragout with a little added rice noodle. Pastel tutup for me is kind of comfort food, yet you know when smashed potatoes meet with gravy ragout style, it's so undeniable.

Okay, that's all of the verse of this blog about a salad that my mother and I made with my sister's main dishes, 'pastel tutup'. I suggest that if you have potatoes, to also recook this style of dish, I guess you like that too.

See ya guys, don't forget to have lunch every day, because lunch is a fuel for your daily routine, besides having breakfast.
