Last night, I was partying with my friends because one of them got promoted. Honestly, I think we were even happier than he was. He’s a very hardworking guy who has spent a lot of time in his field. While all of us moved on to other jobs one by one, he kept working there with dedication, and finally, the day came when all of us saw our wish come true. We were all genuinely very happy.

To celebrate this promotion, we demanded a treat from our friend, and he agreed without any hesitation.

Then came the question where to go? As you all know, it’s always hard to get everyone on the same page. Some people refuse, some prefer other places. Luckily, we have one friend who’s an expert at convincing everyone, so he managed it.

We finally decided on Cafe Imran. This restaurant is about 65 km from my house, roughly a 1.5-hour drive. I had been there once before with my elder brothers and enjoyed it.

According to the plan, everyone had to meet up at 7 PM. One of my friends picked me up from home, and then we went to pick another friend. Three of us squeezed onto one bike and headed to the meeting point. On the way, our bike’s tyre got punctured, and due to network issues, we had some trouble. But we called another friend to bring a new tube, got it fixed, and moved on. In a way, it was good that the puncture happened at the start, the road ahead was long and empty, and it would have been difficult if it happened later.

Once we all met at the meeting point, we drank some water and then set off for Cafe Imran. But soon we ran into a huge traffic jam. Cars weren’t moving an inch, and some people were already turning back. We didn’t waste time and took a U-turn to try an alternate route.

That alternate route was quite rough broken roads, overflowing gutters, water all over the streets. It was difficult to get through, but we didn’t stop. Five of us on three bikes kept going. What should’ve taken 15 minutes took us about an hour through narrow streets, but finally, we reached the main road. From there, it was a smooth ride to Cafe Imran.

We reached there around 10 PM. There was a different level of excitement and happiness, after all the struggles, we had finally arrived. I was covered in dust from the journey, so I freshened up.

Then we ordered food. This place is famous for its Mutton Rosh, a traditional dish from Northern Pakistan that people in Karachi absolutely love. Cafe Imran is well known for it. We ordered three Rosh, one Chicken Karahi, and a Zinger burger.

Their menu is actually quite small, considering the popularity of the place. But seeing the crowd, you can tell the food and service are excellent.

As expected, the Rosh was amazing and very delicious and full of flavor. The Chicken Karahi was a letdown though, as the chicken wasn’t properly cooked and was tough. Surprisingly, the Zinger burger turned out to be really tasty, much better than we expected.

Overall, the food, cleanliness, and service were excellent, except for the chicken. We all enjoyed the food and each other’s company a lot.

After eating, we sat outside the restaurant. The weather was nice, with a cool breeze. We ordered tea there. It was more expensive than the tea you get at local dhabas, but it was really good.

Now you might wonder can’t we find such food in Karachi city itself? Of course we can, maybe even better. But after a 2-hour drive, with an hour on the highway, the enjoyment of having food there is just different.

I got home around 2 AM, exhausted and went straight to sleep. I’m not used to such outings anymore.

In short, we had a great time and the treat was superb. Thanks to my friend for such a lovely treat.
