Hola, mi gente bonita de @family-friend. Un gusto visitarlos en este día; por aquí estamos de día feriado, igual nos levantamos bien temprano porque Ambar tenía entrenamiento a las seis y media de la mañana de atletismo y, bueno, mientras que ella hace sus prácticas, yo camino y les escribo estas líneas.
Aprovecho para desearles un feliz fin de semana largo, que puedan hacer todos sus pendientes, trabajar, disfrutar o descansar; ustedes ven, todo con la bendición de Dios siempre.
También aprovecho de elevar una oración al cielo por todas esas personas que perdieron la vida aquel 24 de junio por el doble sismo en nuestro país. Que Dios los tenga en su santa gloria y dé paz y aliento a los que sobrevivieron para seguir adelante. Que puedan recibir todo el apoyo necesario para resurgir a pesar de su pena y dolor. Seguimos con nuestras vidas, pero no se olvida que en 39 segundos la vida te cambia por completo. Así que no dejemos para mañana lo que podemos hacer hoy.
Lo que les vine a contar hoy es sobre este pequeño reencuentro que tuvimos entre amigos hace unos días. De estos cinco amigos y compañeros de trabajo que ven aquí, tres estamos activos en la oficina, pero dos ya están jubilados y desde el año pasado no están trabajando con nosotros, y teníamos tiempo planeando y planeando y, entre una cosa y otra, nunca se daba.
Así que hace días dijimos: "Vamos a vernos mañana y listo, así sea algo sencillo, comemos un helado, hablamos cuatro pistoladas, nos relajamos con nuestros cuentos, chistes y anécdotas. Y bueno, así fue, quedamos de acuerdo a las 3 de la tarde y nos vimos en el centro comercial, subimos a la feria de comida, aunque no íbamos a comprar comida, sino reíamos porque estábamos hablando demasiado. Estaba un vigilante atrás de nosotros y nos decíamos: "El vigilante dirá cuándo es que estos van a comprar algo, jejeje.
Bueno, al final era que estábamos cortos de presupuesto; lo importante es que queríamos vernos las caras, abrazarnos, estar juntos para actualizar cuentos, historias y luego nos fuimos a comer unos postres; los helados no pueden faltar en la salida, estaban sabrosos y refrescantes.
Y bueno, la verdad que tomé pocas fotos; estábamos inspirados hablando y riéndonos a carcajadas con los cuentos de Juan. Pero no quería dejar pasar la oportunidad de mostrárselas por aquí y animarlos a que no es necesario hacer un gran plan, con tener mucho dinero, para poderse reunir entre amigos, que tenemos tiempo que no compartimos.
La verdad, fue un gran gusto compartir con ellos y espero que se repita pronto. Esto ha sido todo por hoy y nos vemos en una próxima oportunidad. Gracias por visitar mi blog.
A Little Get-Together Among Friends
Hi, my lovely folks at @family-friend. It’s a pleasure to visit you today; it’s a holiday here, but we still got up really early because Ambar had track practice at 6:30 in the morning, and, well, while she’s training, I’m taking a walk and writing these lines to you.
I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy long weekend—may you get everything done, work, enjoy yourselves, or rest; you know, always with God’s blessing.
I’d also like to offer a prayer to heaven for all those who lost their lives on June 24th due to the twin earthquakes in our country. May God welcome them into His holy glory and grant peace and encouragement to those who survived so they can move forward. May they receive all the support they need to rise again despite their grief and pain. We carry on with our lives, but we must never forget that in 39 seconds, life can change completely. So let’s not put off until tomorrow what we can do today.
What I came to tell you about today is this little get-together we had among friends a few days ago. Of these five friends and coworkers you see here, three of us are still active in the office, but two have already retired and haven’t been working with us since last year, and we’d been planning and planning for a while, but between one thing and another, it never worked out.
So a few days ago we said, “Let’s just meet up tomorrow—even if it’s something simple, like grabbing some ice cream, chatting a bit, and relaxing with our stories, jokes, and anecdotes.” And well, that’s exactly what happened. We agreed to meet at 3 p.m. and met up at the mall. We went up to the food court—not to buy anything, mind you—but we were laughing because we were talking so much. There was a security guard behind us, and we kept saying to each other, “The security guard will be wondering when these guys are finally going to buy something, hehehe.”
Well, in the end, we were a little short on cash; the important thing was that we wanted to see each other’s faces, give each other hugs, and be together to catch up on stories and anecdotes, and then we went to get some desserts; ice cream is a must on any outing—it was delicious and refreshing.
And well, to be honest, I didn’t take many photos; we were so caught up in talking and laughing out loud at Juan’s stories. But I didn’t want to miss the chance to share them here and encourage you all—it doesn’t take a big plan or a lot of money to get together with friends, especially when we haven’t spent time together in a while.
