Hi hivers foodies. Have you lunch? Today I want to share another simple dish.
Today simple dish I like is Ikan Asam Padeh ( Spicy Sour Fish). Simply throw all the ingredients into a pan and cook until thickened.
My mother's recipe is definitely a family favorite.

Ingredients:
- 1 kg mackerel
- Lime
- Salt
- 1/2 thumb-sized piece of ginger
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 15 shallots
- Two dried garcinia fruits
- 1/4 ground red chili
- One turmeric leaf
Steps:
- Clean the mackerel with running water, then rub it with a mixture of lime juice and salt. Set aside.
- Grind the ginger, garlic, and shallots using a mortar and pestle or a blender.
- Place the turmeric leaf in the pan and put the cleaned fish on top of it.
- Add the ground spices and finely chopped red chili pepper.
- Add enough water to cover the fish, then stir until the spices are well mixed.
Turn on the heat and cook until the mixture is thickened. Stir cocasionally
Add salt to taste.
- Turn off the stove and serve.
Eating asam padeh with warm rice is the perfect combination. The combination of sour and spicy flavors is a true delight for the taste buds 🤤
