Anyway, here I am again, talking about food and recipes. As you know, I cook often and share my recipes here, but every now and then I'm happy to give up my place in the kitchen.
In fact, today I'm not talking about myself, but about my husband and my stepdaughter, who are baking a huge cake. My stepdaughter loves to cook and found a recipe for a two-tone cake with a sponge cake base and a chocolate base on top, topped with cream and food coloring. My stepdaughter is very good in the kitchen, so she started making the sponge cake herself, measuring all the ingredients precisely on the scales. Eggs, flour, milk, my husband whipping the batter, a small kitchen crew, and me, for once, just watching and reading the recipe. When the first base was ready we put it in the oven and they started preparing the chocolate base.

En fin, aquí estoy de nuevo, hablando de comida y recetas. Como sabéis, cocino a menudo y comparto mis recetas aquí, pero de vez en cuando me apetece dejar mi sitio en la cocina. De hecho, hoy no os hablo de mí, sino de mi marido y mi hijastra, que están preparando un pastel enorme.
A mi hijastra le encanta cocinar y ha encontrado una receta para un pastel bicolor con base de bizcocho y base de chocolate por encima, con nata y colorante alimentario. Mi hijastra es muy buena cocinando, así que empezó a hacer el bizcocho ella misma, midiendo todos los ingredientes con precisión en la báscula: huevos, harina, leche, mi marido batiendo la masa, un pequeño equipo de cocina y yo, por una vez, simplemente mirando y leyendo la receta. Cuando la primera base estuvo lista la metimos al horno y empezaron a preparar la base de chocolate.

It took about a couple of hours to bake both bases, then she placed them one on top of the other and began decorating the cake with the cream. She was good and very precise, and she also used generous amounts. To finish, she drew a cat with cake coloring.
We are a family of cat lovers. She finished it with a caramel topping. It was a beautiful result and a lovely afternoon spent in the kitchen. She was so busy cooking that she never touched her phone! Anyway, the cake was really good, even if it's not suitable for those on a diet, and my stepdaughter had a lot of fun cooking it and is now studying other recipes to try!

Mi marido se encargó de untar la sartén con mantequilla y batir la masa con las varillas, pero mi hijastra se encargó del resto: de las cantidades y de los ingredientes. También preparó con cuidado y rapidez la segunda base de chocolate. Tardó un par de horas en hornear ambas bases; luego, las colocó una encima de la otra y empezó a decorar el pastel con la crema. Fue muy precisa y usó cantidades generosas. Para terminar, dibujó un gato con colorante para pasteles. Somos una familia de amantes de los gatos. Lo terminó con una cobertura de caramelo.
