Hello everyone, we're back in the kitchen today, and the menu I want to recommend is Gaeng Tai Pla (Southern Thai Fish Viscera Curry). This dish is very popular in southern Thailand. It's spicy, rich, and intensely flavorful. It's one of my favorite southern Thai dishes, perfect with rice noodles, plain rice, or fresh vegetables. Just thinking about it makes me hungry! Of course, since I'm in Italy, the ingredients are hard to find, so I ordered a ready-made curry powder and gathered some additional ingredients. Some ingredients are slightly different, but the taste and aroma are similar to Gaeng Tai Pla. It might not be exactly the same, but it's a good substitute. This is my special version of Gaeng Tai Pla from a foreign country. Let's look at the ingredients and how to make it.

Ingredients
- One can of tuna
- 10 grams of ready-made curry powder
- One teaspoon of shrimp paste
- 3-5 kaffir lime leaves
- One shallot
- Carrot
- Potato
- Peas
- 200 milliliters of water
Method
- Heat a pot and add water. - Next, add the carrots, peas, potatoes, shallots, and kaffir lime leaves.

- Then add the seasoning powder. Once the water boils, add the canned tuna. Don't stir yet; wait for the water to boil again before stirring to prevent the broth from becoming too white. Then season with shrimp paste and fish sauce.

- Wait for everything to boil and the vegetables to be cooked. Once done, prepare to serve. Today I ate it with rice noodles, vegetables, and a boiled egg. The vegetables I ate today were stir-fried zucchini, but you can use any fresh vegetables you like. The taste is spicy, salty, and well-balanced – delicious!

- You can buy the seasoning powder at most Asian grocery stores. If you haven't tried it before, try buying the seasoning powder or curry paste to make this dish. The original recipe usually includes pumpkin, eggplant, long beans, bamboo shoots, and fish innards. You could use authentic bottled fish innards, but if not prepared properly, it can be very fishy.

This is another easy way to make Thai food, a great option for those living abroad who miss Thai cuisine. The taste and aroma are quite similar. I hope you enjoy my food photos. Thank you for following and have a great day!
