Hello, how are you? I didn't like labong (bamboo shoot) before, but after I learned the right way to cook it, I've been loving eating it now. The bitterness is what stopped me from eating it or requesting to buy it at the market, and my mom told me that there are different kinds of labong in the market. The Chinese labong is the best.

And this dish is perfect when budgeting for weekly food, so this is a must when in our weekly market. This one is so simple to cook with simple ingredients too.

Ingredients I Used:

0.JPG

  • Labong (Bamboo Shoot)
  • 4 Cloves Garlic
  • 1 Red Onion
  • Ginger
  • Meat
  • Soy Sauce
  • Cooking Oil
  • Water
  • White Vinegar
  • Sugar
  • Ground Pepper
  • Oyster Sauce

Let's Cook!

In a pot with water, I boil the Labong (Bamboo Shoot) enough to drown the veggie and boil it for about 10 minutes, and after that, rinse it and set it aside.

In a pan, I added about two tablespoons of cooking oil, and I added the meat and cooked it until crispy.

And then I added the aromatics like garlic, red onion, and ginger, and after that I added the Labong (Bamboo Shoot).

Then I added about 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. Mix.

To balance the condiment I added earlier, I added about a half teaspoon of sugar.

And then I added ground pepper.

Then I added about 4 tablespoons of oyster sauce. This makes everything taste good LOL.

Mix everything until well combined and cook it for about 5 minutes, mixing it once in a while to remove any excess water from the Labong (Bamboo Shoot).

Serve hot and plated. And here is the close-up look at the food!

Really pwede siya sa ginataan? I haven’t try it yet but sound interesting. 🤨 You should try the adobo for sure you will like it 😁
