Aha! I saw you came in for the sweets 🤣 Which ones do you prefer? Traditional? homemade? manufactured? healthy? We are born in a time that there is for everyone, so my dear #foodielovers, this Friday I come to do a review to talk a little bit about the sweets that I have received, bought, gifted and that although I did not enjoy their taste much before, today I indulge myself to taste them and decide what yes and what no of sweets Join me!
Secret Friend In my country, the secret friend has become very popular; it consists of several people getting together, putting a small piece of paper in a bag with the name of all the people interested in participating and from there they take out the names WITHOUT ANYONE KNOWING IT. On the planned day, they take a gift with a previously agreed price or theme. Well, the exchange of sweets has become very common, so the main option will always be chocolate in all its expressions. This can be accompanied with other trendy, salty and everything that can be carried in the package that does not go over budget. I particularly like “branded” products, that is to say, recognized products because I don't get surprises that don't taste the way they should originally taste (I don't know if you know what I mean). For example, a Pringles keeps its flavor and freshness, if I buy an imitation it would not be the same, so I go for the safe thing. This was a gift I received and enjoyed because I loved everything!

Ice cream Who says I do!!! 😊 When I didn't eat sweets, ice cream was one of the few exceptions. I like traditional flavors like vanilla and chocolate. This presentation, although expensive, is worth every penny because the flavor is concentrated and maintains consistency. In the case of the power outages that happen daily in Venezuela, this ice cream keeps its texture for many hours (refrigerated of course). The presentation is adequate for 4 people to share; although I can see you want them for you only 😆 👀. I forgot, it's not cloying, so it can serve for the whole family. This time around, I tried it cookies and cream. On a movie afternoon, it's the perfect accompaniment:

Traditional - homemade These are the most delicious because they take us back to our childhood. Many of us who are now independent adults were raised by our grandmothers, yes or no? Well, they were experts in preparing “snacks” what we know as snacks, based on what was in the kitchen. It's to long for those times, because ask a grandmother nowadays to make it and the most she can do is buy it at the supermarket 🤣. All over our country, by state typical sweets are prepared, some well known and others that always invites us to discover what do they taste like? Of the traditional sweets, I like the besito y (it is coconut based) and cookies. There are so many and all of them have their charm and attractiveness. This is a sweet from the Venezuelan Andes, like a snack that I don't know its name. It has become very popular here, but I warn you, it contains a lot of candy, so be prepared with the kids who won't want to sleep early 😊.

Healthy sweets And as I said at the beginning, now there is something for everyone. Unfortunately before there was no care about sweets or the myth that they could only harm. Today we can perfectly enjoy the taste of sweets but in a healthy way and as everything without excesses and eating balanced, that's where the key to everything is. This is the section that I like the most when I go to a supermarket, because the flavors are new or similar to others, but I am super clear that at least they are not as harmful as traditional sweets. I'm more of savory treats, so I love “the pepito” I do not know if it is known otherwise, so this option even vegan, keeps the flavor but without dyes or additives that harm our stomach. Another one that helps me to calm those cravings when I don't have to eat in the middle of the morning or afternoon, or just sharing or watching TV, are fruits. I get them in cans or this presentation that I got as a gift which I loved! because it is a sufficient dose to calm my “snack” moment and nourishes me 😊.

So, whether they are sweet, salty, imported or traditional, the important thing is not to consume them in excess and to maintain a balanced diet. Remember that we are approaching the days of parties, celebrations or just lying around enjoying a good movie, so I hope you can accompany your moments with these or other sweets. And you, which ones do you prefer? I read them in the comments 👀😊. The photographs are my property. I edited the cover in Canvas as well as the divider.
