Greetings, my dear friends, food and dessert lovers. I hope you are feeling very well, in good health and well-being.
This Saturday we started the day with a great joy at home: after almost three years, we tasted again the telita cheese. Yes, telita cheese! That soft, fresh and delicious cheese that we have been longing for since we arrived in Bogota. During all this time we have been looking for someone to sell it, asking here and there, but we had not been able to find it. However, a few days ago, as a divine sign, someone told us about a seller who brings authentic Venezuelan cheeses. They shared the contact information with us and we didn't hesitate for a second.
When we finally had it in our hands, we could not believe it, I embraced it as a treasure. Just by opening the package and seeing that little white cheese with its characteristic aroma, we already felt a mixture of emotion and nostalgia. I don't know if it is because one clings to the flavors of one's homeland like the most beautiful memories, but this cheese tastes like home to me, like a weekend breakfast with the family gathered around the table.

Este sábado comenzamos el día con una gran alegría en casa: después de casi tres años, volvimos a saborear el queso telita. ¡Sí, queso telita! Ese queso suave, fresco y delicioso que tanto añoramos desde que llegamos a Bogotá. Durante todo este tiempo hemos estado buscando quién lo vendiera, preguntando aquí y allá, pero no habíamos conseguido. Sin embargo, hace unos días, como una señal divina, alguien nos habló de un vendedor que trae quesos venezolanos auténticos. Nos compartieron el contacto y no lo dudamos ni un segundo.
Cuando finalmente lo tuvimos en nuestras manos, no podíamos creerlo, yo lo abracé como un tesoro. Solo con abrir el empaque y ver ese quesito blanco con su característico aroma, ya sentíamos una mezcla de emoción y nostalgia. No sé si es porque uno se aferra a los sabores de su tierra como a los recuerdos más bonitos, pero este queso me sabe a hogar, a desayuno de fin de semana con la familia reunida alrededor de la mesa.
So for today's breakfast we wanted to do something simple but very much our own. We prepared the eggs in the airfryer, which are delicious and delicious. Then we put a good cheese cloth on the plate to accompany the thin arepa, the kind that are toasted on the outside and soft on the inside. And that's it! Nothing more was needed to make us feel happy. That first bite took me far away, it transported me to my home in Venezuela. We looked at each other with a smile that said it all: we were really enjoying it.
Sometimes happiness is found in the small details, in moments like today when the simple pleasure of a meal connects us to our roots. Today, with this simple and special breakfast, I felt that a little piece of Venezuela was sneaking into our table.
Así que para el desayuno de hoy quisimos hacer algo sencillo pero muy nuestro. Preparamos los huevitos en el airfryer, que quedan buenísimos y deliciosos. Luego pusimos una buena tela de queso telita en el plato para acompañar la arepa delgadita, de esas que quedan tostaditas por fuera y suaves por dentro. ¡Y ya está! Nada más necesitábamos para sentirnos felices. Ese primer bocado me llevó lejos, me transporto a mi casa en Venezuela. Nos miramos con una sonrisa que lo decía todo: lo estábamos disfrutando de verdad.
A veces, la felicidad se encuentra en los pequeños detalles, en momentos como el de hoy en el que el placer simple de una comida nos conecta con nuestras raíces. Hoy, con este desayuno tan sencillo y especial, sentí que un pedacito de Venezuela se colaba en nuestra mesa.
