Today, while shopping at the supermarket, I came across a surprise that made me very happy. In one of the aisles, I saw a package of cookies that, at first glance, looked very similar to our beloved Reinitas cookies. Those same ones, the most delicious in the world, with their bright red, sweet, and perfectly soft strawberry center. Seeing them brought back memories of my childhood and youth.🍪
I couldn't resist. I took them off the shelf without thinking twice and put them in my cart. Reinitas were part of our snacks; they were always there. I could eat the whole package without feeling guilty. They were, without a doubt, one of my favorite cookies. I haven't enjoyed them in years; they stopped being sold in Venezuela and since then they have remained only in my memory.👑

Hoy, mientras hacía compras en el supermercado, me encontré con una sorpresa que me emocionó mucho. En uno de los pasillos vi un empaque de unas galletas que, a simple vista, se parecían muchísimo a nuestras entrañables galletas Reinitas. Esas mismas, las más deliciosas del mundo, con su centro de fresa rojito, brillante, dulce y perfectamente suave. Al verlas llegó un recuerdo de mi infancia y juventud.🍪
No me resistí. Las tomé del estante sin pensarlo dos veces y las puse en el carrito. Las Reinitas formaban parte de nuestras meriendas; nunca faltaban. Yo podía comerme el paquete completo sin remordimientos. Fueron, sin duda, una de mis galletas preferidas. Hace años que no las disfruto; en Venezuela dejaron de salir y desde entonces han quedado guardadas solo en el recuerdo.👑

To try them, I made myself a cup of coffee to go with them. I eagerly opened the package and took the first cookie. When I bit into it, I could just barely taste that strawberry flavor in the center, that sweet touch that I liked so much. However, the cookie itself was nothing like the Reinitas. It lacked the texture and aroma that only they had.😋
Even so, I enjoyed the experience. It was nice to try to make the comparison, relive memories, and realize how a simple flavor can connect so many moments. Reinitas still reign supreme in my memory, but I hope to try the originals again sometime.✨
Para probarlas, preparé un cafecito como acompañante. Abrí el empaque con emoción y tomé la primera galleta. Al morderla, reconocí apenas un poco ese saborcito de fresa del centro, ese toque dulce que tanto me gustaba. Sin embargo, la galleta como tal, no se compara con las Reinitas. Les faltaba la textura y el aroma que solo ellas tenían.😋
Aun así, disfruté la experiencia. Fue bonito intentar hacer la comparación, revivir recuerdos y darme cuenta de cómo un simple sabor puede conectar tantos momentos. Las Reinitas siguen reinando en mi memoria, pero espero volver a probar las originales en algún momento.✨
