Hi Friends!
Cloudy morning here, only 16C inside the greenhouse. Supposedly highest temperature today would only be at 20C. Meh.
This year we don't seem to have a chance to do Sate Ayam (Indonesian grilled chicken with peanut sauce) nor Gulyas (Hungarian goulash, beef soup), since there was fireball, then not many sunny days as well, and when it's sunny, I'd rather enjoy gardening instead 😁
Well, sometimes I'd go to the gazebo to cook there, when it's a hot sunny day, like for the following cheesy fried dough, but yes, no Sate Ayam and/or Goulash, just yet 😁
350 ml lukewarm water
2 tsp quick rise yeast
50-55 g unsalted butter
500 g flour
2 tsp salt
2 tsp sugar
2 garlic
Olive oil
Sour cream
Grated cheese
Salt
Soften yeast in water
On a large bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, then pour in yeast, knead
Add in unsalted butter, continue kneading until mixture forms a nice dough
Cover and let rest for an H, until doubled in size
Preheat frying oil
Pinch enough dough and flatten it, as wide as your pan is, then fry until golden brown, turning once
Crush garlic and mix it with olive oil
Brush garlic oil on fried dough, sprinkle lightly with salt, then spread too with sour cream
Lastly, sprinkle grated cheese generously, and serve immediately
Enjoy !
